The Brown Brick Road. Capturing our adventures one photo at a time. I got a “good” camera for my birthday before Maxwell was born and have LOVED it. I knew zero when I got it and would now say that photography is my true hobby. Which, by the way, I love actually having something to say when people ask what you like to do outside of work and kids! I have a Canon Rebel XSi. The Canon Rebel XSi was the bottom of the digital cameras (meaning the cheapest! 50MM 1.4 fixed. 24-70mm 2.8 zoom. I actually took a b...

We loved having all of our favorite people in town last week to celebrate Maxwell! In other good news, Samantha’s teeth are still white! After the unfortunate fall. Would love to hear from you! Browns Can Do: February 2013
http://brownscando.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Oh the wonderful things that the Browns can do! Monday, February 4, 2013. The girls LOVE art projects. Of all kinds. They are working very hard this morning on creating a gala for their My Little Ponies. Streamers, confetti, and piñatas have been constructed. Costume design is critical and capes will cover each pony. I've been put in charge of watching glue dry. Call us the MINUTE it is dry! It is the perfect job for me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Thanksgiving at the farm. Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Browns Can Do: December 2011

Oh the wonderful things that the Browns can do! Wednesday, December 21, 2011. They should really call these things DANGER pins! Katie's view on misnamed safety pins. Trying to stay safe until 2012. Merry Merry! Sunday, December 11, 2011. The stockings are hung. The fake 4 foot pre-lit tree is atop the table. It doesn't SOUND that magical. But it is. Katie pronounced it the most beautiful tree in the whole world, and I believe her. Admittedly, some beliefs have been shattered this year. Now, keeping my Sa...
Browns Can Do: November 2012
http://brownscando.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Oh the wonderful things that the Browns can do! Sunday, November 18, 2012. The minivan is a controversial topic. One must value efficiency over style to embrace the epic uncoolness. And I do. Man, I love this thing. It is like spending the day in an NYC apartment. Right now the girls are in the way back, obscured by a wall of blankets they tied to the grab bars. They are whispering so that Ronnie and I can't hear them in their "secret fort". Wednesday, November 7, 2012. We had a civics lesson last night.
Browns Can Do: January 2013

Oh the wonderful things that the Browns can do! Friday, January 4, 2013. Santa brought sponge rollers for Christmas! A long winter's nap. Nothing is cozier to Anna than GrandDaddy's chair. She snuck in and stole this spot when he got up and he never got his chair back! We've had a restful winter holiday. Hope you have too! Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Looking for more adventure in 2013! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Thanksgiving at the farm. A long winters nap. Fantastic Mr. Fox. Freddy and The Ignormous.
Browns Can Do: March 2012
http://brownscando.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Oh the wonderful things that the Browns can do! Friday, March 23, 2012. One terrified frog "rescued" in the backyard. Two handfuls of rocks in my washer. Eight filthy hands making mudpies. Twelve neighbors under age twelve. Twenty-four photos of "Snakes of Alabama" we had to pour through this morning. Two very happy little girls. Thursday, March 22, 2012. This morning the girls packed their suitcases for the beach! Unfortunately, we don't leave for the beach for another six days. Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
Browns Can Do: June 2012

Oh the wonderful things that the Browns can do! Friday, June 29, 2012. I fear for the future. Davy Crockett she ain't. Monday, June 4, 2012. Sunday, June 3, 2012. Katie Goes To Camp. I feel like I just stopped swaddling her. Katie has been brave and excited by the prospect of three nights at camp. Tonight, we looked at a map. I thought it would be reassuring for her to see how close she will be to home. It will only be about a 40 minute drive from door to door. We'll see how this goes. Katie Goes To Camp.
Browns Can Do: April 2013

Oh the wonderful things that the Browns can do! Sunday, April 14, 2013. Katie is making a friendship bracelet! Amazing. It feels like 1985, at Ardmore Court and I am sitting on the brown couch surrounded by embroidery floss with Mom's special brass "extra sharp" scissors. What a treat. I love this crafty girl. Next up, gimp keychains! Monday, April 8, 2013. Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme. Tonight, Anna was chopping herbs for the southwestern coleslaw. Good job on the cilantro, babe.". I hope this blog...

Oh the wonderful things that the Browns can do! Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Long day. Project. With actual deadline. And accountability. Wondering: How did I do this? Once upon a time. I was responsive, responsible, thorough, quick. I was a procrastinator - always - but still. I used to return phone calls. How on EARTH did I do it? It seems impossible. Like a vague recollection that I once had the ability to fly. Then it hit me. I used to have a door. And then I went to the bathroom. Alone. Junie B....

Oh the wonderful things that the Browns can do! Friday, August 31, 2012. Ah, the power of literature. Today, Katie Brown got her own library card. Can I get my very own library card? When you get that request in carpool line - you go with it. She was thrilled with the power and possibility of a lifetime of free learning, of all the world's literature opening up before her. Or perhaps the awesome plastic card to put in her wallet. Wednesday, August 22, 2012. From the backseat this morning:. JGB's Job - Ro...

The title of this blog comes from a teenager, Miley Cyrus, her song is powerful and true. I am sure you have heard it before. It's the Climb.". I can almost see it. That dream I'm dreaming but. We loaded up all our little superheros and headed to the Opelika Fall Festival where they played games, jumped in inflatables, loved on mascots, and danced to Route 66! We even got to go on a train ride with Kendyl, their cousin! Oh, how they love Kendyl! My goodness, I feel old! Here is my sweet little family of superheros! Welcome to my life!

Because the Holy Ghost over the bent world still broods. My Brother’s Keeper: An Urgent Call to Modern Christian Women. Sometimes a River Is Not Enough. October 30, 2016. October 30, 2016. Do you remember those moments in your life when you felt like you could cry for days and, somehow, it would still not be enough?
