From Marshfield, MO we drove the entire 575 miles to finish up our 2008/2009 winter adventure. Left at 7:30 am and pulled in the driveway at 6:00 pm. THE WEATHER WE LEFT BEHIND. Wednesday, March 4, 2009. Hey, we are back in San Carlos. Made the 300 mile drive yesterday and got in here about 5:30 pm. 8 hours to go 300 miles! Have not seen TV since we crossed the border. Now this makes for one happy camper! Good internet here but just too busy cleaning house and vehicles to put pictures on. It does take a lot of time. THE WEATHER WE LEFT BEHIND. Monday, March 2, 2009. The normal road to the park was all torn up and being rebuilt so I had nowhere to go but to the beach road. Cars and trucks lined all up and down both sides! One lane of road remained with everyone trying to go in both directions! I was stuck. Couldn't go forward. Couldn't back up. THE WEATHER WE LEFT BEHIND. Thursday, March 12, 2009. We enjoyed our three days at Camp Verde and did not want to leave so soon. But we had to go today in order to squeeze into The Grand Canyon RV park (Trailer Village). Next time around we will definitely stay longer in Camp Verde. THE WEATHER WE LEFT BEHIND. Tuesday, March 10, 2009. It's Tuesday morning and 38 outside. There is frost on the car windows! We are in Camp Verde, AZ north of Phoenix at an RV resort just off I-17. Beautiful place! We intend to stay here a second night tonight then head to the Grand Canyon in the morning. Today we are going to do a siteseeing drive after visiting the fitness center for a much needed workout. Still working our way home, however. See you soon. Jim, Ellen, and Breezie. THE WEATHER WE LEFT BEHIND. Friday, March 6, 2009. This RV park is nearly empty. The one in town(Totonaka) that we stayed for two nights after crossing in January is full. Totonaka is a dump compared to this one, the ocean cannot be seen there, it's near a sewer line that dumps into the water so it stinks, and it's noisy being right in the center of town and just off the highway. THE WEATHER WE LEFT BEHIND. Thursday, March 5, 2009. Yesterday, Wednesday, we did nothing but clean, clean, and clean. Soooo nice to be out of the sand, dust, etc. Here are some pictures kind of wrapping up our Mexico adventure. Our final Mazatlan sunset. I keep saying no more sunset pictures but I just can't help myself. Marcos, the security guard at Tres Amigos, saying goodbye to Ellen. He speaks no English but he and Ellen communicated. THE WEATHER WE LEFT BEHIND. Monday, March 16, 2009. At 9:00 am and arrived at Foss Lake State Park in Foss, OK 7 hours and 450 miles later. It is a sunny and 75 degree late afternoon. Beautiful little park on a huge reservoir. In the middle of what would appear to be nowhere. I took a few pictures but the connection here is too slow to post them now. According to the Weather Channel Elkhart. Has has some pretty good weather lately as well. Hope it stays around for our arrival back home in a few days.
