I memorized the tips of his barely-formed fingers and finger nails. His knuckles, his skin, his tiny and way-too-skinny wrist, up his arm until the picture ended. The picture ended too soon. I wanted to see more, I needed to see more. What did the rest of him look like? Why couldn't she picture more of him?
