Weekly rehab, weekend warrior, and a goal to be healthy
The Busted Athlete: April 2014
http://www.thebustedathlete.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Weekend warrior with a goal to be healthy again after hip arthroscopy surgery. I used to run and bike, now I just rehab and ice. Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Well that was unexpected. I applied for FMLA as HR recommended that I do it - and the paperwork came back today. The notes said that my post-op appointments will be ten days, three weeks, and six weeks after surgery, I will have PT 3xs a week and no driving, no squatting and no kneeling for 6 weeks. Wait. no driving. If you're curious, I bought these:.

Weekend warrior with a goal to be healthy again after hip arthroscopy surgery. I used to run and bike, now I just rehab and ice. Monday, October 27, 2014. During my research, I came across the autoimmune diet. The diet is not intended to be permanent (thankfully! Sarah recommends eliminating everything for some period of time, and then slowly reintroduce foods one a time to find out what may be the underlying culprit. If my thyroid stabilizes, then great. If my thyroid stabilizes and my joint pai...I am ...
The Busted Athlete: October 2014

Weekend warrior with a goal to be healthy again after hip arthroscopy surgery. I used to run and bike, now I just rehab and ice. Friday, October 31, 2014. Trial week: Autoimmune Diet. I used this week to test out some new foods for the Autoimmune Protocol. Diet and not worry about being strictly compliant. Overall, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be, likely because I am already gluten and dairy-free. This week I tried a smoothie: coconut milk, berries or a banana, collagen protein powder.
The Busted Athlete: Here we go again

Weekend warrior with a goal to be healthy again after hip arthroscopy surgery. I used to run and bike, now I just rehab and ice. Saturday, August 1, 2015. Here we go again. I haven't posted must mostly because things were going really well. I was back to running, biking, hiking, doing pilates and keeping up with my weight training. I had finally gotten to the point where I had no limitations on activities and the hip was staying (mostly) quiet. The pain so far is not anywhere near where I was pre-surgery...
