(Why do they always look like aliens at this stage? Came as quite a shock to me too let me tell you! Even through I had an odd feeling thought the pregnancy, as if I felt more connected to the whole twinage thing. For me I was initially over the moon, delirious with happiness and excitement. How the hell would I cope?

However do not let that cute little face dupe you into a false sense of security. There are days where I swear she is the devil reincarnated. I know tantrums and power struggles are all par course of this age and yes I know it’s just a ‘phase’ but damn it she’s hard work at the minute. And cue wee accident…. My youngest daughter is amazing.

I’ve been before in May when it is awash with rhododendrums and azaleas, but in October it has a different feel though equally lovely. The difference between being 33 and 3 is that the response to someone who says "I'm going running," aged 33 is "Good for you! When you're 3 it's "Can I come too? I'm not sporty. PE lessons at school pretty much put me off sport for life. Nothing to do with the teachers/teaching, and everything to do with communal changing rooms, teenage girls, and self-consciousness.
