The Local GEST (424 Parliament) has a farm lot north of Toronto where staff and volunteers are growing farm-fresh produce to use in the restaurant. On new developments in the pipeline in our area along Bloor Street, in St James Town and Wellesley St, south on Sherbourne, along the waterfront, north on Parliament to Regent Park and along River Street. It’s an important article - this will be happening right here in our own backyard. Most parts of our neighbourhood will be affected by the influx of these new buildings and thousands of new residents.

On Wednesday morning, two homes on Carlton Street were damaged by a upper level fire. 222 Carlton is owned by Toronto Community Housing and contains eleven apartments. 224 belongs to Free the Children and is used for office space. Thanks to Dave Archer. He ran into the house and pulled the man to safety.
