A Coeur d'Alene Native Spills His Guts. Thursday, December 22, 2011. I must admit first off that I am The Grinch. And Scrooge. I wasn't always and indeed loved Christmas as a kid (what kid doesn't? My childhood joys of opening Xmas gifts were surpassed only in the summertime when the hydroplanes came to race in the Diamond Cup on Lake Coeur d'Alene. But Christmas was fun and gifts, aka TOYS! Some of my best gifts came from Uncle Ray and Aunt Mary. Then there's the presents that didn't go over so well....

The Old Kitchen
The blog was started to follow the progress of my kitchen remodel that is now mostly finished. The finished kitchen naturally turned to food blogging. Now it includes some of my passions: family, design, music, food. Monday, September 3, 2012. We spent the holiday weekend closing my in-laws summer home. The old house had a tired kitchen. It had made many meals. The old, worn out cabinets didn't want to open, their faces were chipped and the French Provincial makeover someone else had tried was insulting to the simple Victorian lady.
