The Apollo Diary: 07/07/14
http://theapollodiary.blogspot.com/2014_07_07_archive.html
July 7, 2014. Cool new USGS website compiles 130 years of U.S. topographic maps in one place. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) recently launched their new Historical Topographic Map Explorer. Which allows people to view topographic maps of the United States from 1884 onward, all on a single website. This is one of the coolest websites I've stumbled on, since you can look at what most areas of the country looked like decades ago. The Atlantic's CityLab website published this article. Cool new US...

The Apollo Diary: The Ice Bucket Challenge is one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard of
http://theapollodiary.blogspot.com/2014/08/the-ice-bucket-challenge-is-one-of.html
August 16, 2014. The Ice Bucket Challenge is one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard of. The ALS Association, an organization that raises money for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) research, is running an Ice Bucket Challenge, in which people have others dump a bucket of ice water on them in order to raise money for the ALS Association and other charities. Personally, I think it's an absolutely stupid idea. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Top 7 Blog Posts.

October | 2014 | The Prairie Badger
https://prairiebadger.wordpress.com/2014/10
Wisconsin politics from the view of an Illinois progressive. October 30, 2014. In South Central Wisconsin. Fake Democrat who ran against Lori Compas in 2012 recalls behind last-minute swiftboat attack against Mary Burke. Jefferson County, Wisconsin Republican Party chairman Gary Ellerman is a world-class sleazeball. Now, Ellerman, who himself was fired from Trek Bicycles in 2004, is behind a swiftboat campaign. Claiming that Mary Burke was fired from Trek, which is run by Burke’s family:. 8220;I read the...

Wisconsin politics from the view of an Illinois progressive. November 20, 2014. In Statewide Wisconsin Politics. Governor Walker, you are no Fighting Bob La Follette. In an editorial by The Wall Street Journal’s Joseph Rago, Republican Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin, who is considering running for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination in 2016, compared himself to Fighting Bob La Follette. Sadly, this isn’t the first time. Fighting Bob La Follette. Blogger who mostly writes about Illinois and...

Wisconsin politics from the view of an Illinois progressive. November 21, 2014. In Democratic Party of Wisconsin. The progressive takeover of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin is for real. Rowan Viva, who is apparently not running for Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin (DPW) this time around (her last attempt at doing so resulted in her not even making the convention ballot), is now organizing an effort to get progressives. CALL TO ACTION FOR FIGHTIN’ WISCONSINITES! Link added by me). Blogger who...
