Back in the day early 2003, when Shangrila was Zhongdian, SARS doing it's thing and the old town mostly deserted, four out of work (obviously) guides/drivers with too much time on their hands decided it was time to introduce the wonders of mixed drinks, real coffee and good music to the outer reaches of NW Yunnan. Not much has changed, nary a renovation undertaken, and little if any money made. But at least we drink for free.
