The Boys: Raising Identical Twins: May 2012
http://twinsblog.troupsburg.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
The Boys: Raising Identical Twins. Monday, May 14, 2012. Separate bedrooms: addressing the issue by design. Right now, our boys enjoy sharing a bedroom. They face each other as they fall asleep. They often decline to snuggle in our bed when they awaken at night because neither wants to leave the other alone in his room. They look for each other and, usually, awaken each other as soon as the sun rises. But we know that will end someday. We know it should end someday. I'm just a little excited. I also worr...

The Boys: Raising Identical Twins: Thank you, thank you, thank you and good-bye
http://twinsblog.troupsburg.com/2013/02/thank-you-thank-you-thank-you-and-good.html
The Boys: Raising Identical Twins. Monday, February 4, 2013. Thank you, thank you, thank you and good-bye. Jonathan in blue; Matthew in red. I'm a few days late, but I have a special gift to offer our twins for their sixth birthday. I am officially ending this blog. For more than five years - since they were nine months old - I have used stories about Matthew and Jonathan to illustrate more universal issues involving identical twins. But I believe the time has come to respect their privacy. I have learne...

The Boys: Raising Identical Twins: Early results are in: the twins are thriving in the same classroom.
http://twinsblog.troupsburg.com/2012/11/early-results-are-in-twins-are-thriving.html
The Boys: Raising Identical Twins. Wednesday, November 14, 2012. Early results are in: the twins are thriving in the same classroom. Jonathan in blue, Matthew in red. Last week, I had our first conference with Matthew and Jonathan's kindergarten teacher. So far, so good. But now, he said, " they're just like any two kids in the classroom. When there are issues, they are just boy issues - boys being boys.". He no longer even relies on clothing to tell them apart. But while Jonathan sees any kind of testin...

The Boys: Raising Identical Twins: April 2012
http://twinsblog.troupsburg.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
The Boys: Raising Identical Twins. Tuesday, April 17, 2012. And so it begins . Matthew and Jonathan rarely dress alike, but their Angry Birds shirts are new (a gift from their big sister) and they are obsessed, so each insisted on wearing his this morning. As Matthew was dressing, his face suddenly burst into a grin. Let's wear the same pants, too, so we can trick the teachers," he said with a giggle. "I'll say I'm Jon and he'll say he's Matt! I refused, of course, but the idea lived on. But it would be ...

The Boys: Raising Identical Twins: My towering twins
http://twinsblog.troupsburg.com/2012/09/my-towering-twins.html
The Boys: Raising Identical Twins. Friday, September 28, 2012. I had worried that Matthew and Jonathon would be labeled by their shared DNA in school. But does anyone say, "Hey, are you the mom of the identical twins? They say, "Hey, you're the mom of the tall twins, aren't you? Yes, Jonathan and Matthew have a greater claim to fame. They are off the charts for height, just like their older brother and sister, and thanks, probably, to their six-foot-five dad. Their height has always been a problem. Or a ...

The Boys: Raising Identical Twins: Anger, frustration and empathy
http://twinsblog.troupsburg.com/2013/01/anger-frustration-and-empathy.html
The Boys: Raising Identical Twins. Thursday, January 10, 2013. Anger, frustration and empathy. Matthew and Jonathan have an odd dynamic when they deal with issues of frustration and anger, and I wonder whether we're alone in this. The boys are getting older - they will be six in eight days - so I will not apply names to their specific behaviors. I feel I need to change the way I write about them as they age to protect their privacy in ways that will matter to them in the future. But here's how it works.

The Boys: Raising Identical Twins: They are all yours, class of 2025!
http://twinsblog.troupsburg.com/2012/09/they-are-all-yours-class-of-2025.html
The Boys: Raising Identical Twins. Friday, September 7, 2012. They are all yours, class of 2025! Three days ago, Matthew and Jonathan started their new careers. They are officially kindergartners. And with their launch into the academic world has come a renewed round of the infamous question, "Are they in the same classroom? My response ("Yes, they are.") elicits everything from raised eyebrows to pleased smiles to spontaneous lectures. Our decision was based on recent research. So he readily agreed.

The Boys: Raising Identical Twins: June 2012
http://twinsblog.troupsburg.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
The Boys: Raising Identical Twins. Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Jonathan and Matthew are on their way to kindergarten! They were ecstatic as they graduated preschool this week and last - first from their private school and then from the public school. My camera battery died minutes into the first graduation, so this photo bomb is limited to the second graduation. Jonathan won the award for best at puzzles. He told his teachers he wants to be a pizza guy when he grows up. Just before this picture, we learned...

New Mom in Christ. July 26, 2010 · 12:43 am. RE/MAX, please stop…. Do you own a home? Do you enjoy it? If so, you have my envy. The Bible says that envy is one of the faults of the flesh and those that partake in it will not inherit the Kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). This is not acceptable. My main objective in life is to end up in His Kingdom by sharing the Gospel and living by his commandments. So, how do I expel envy? Tagged as 1 Corinthians. 2 responses to “. RE/MAX, please stop….
