Push through, push harder, and all I can think is why, why am I doing this? Is it to prove to myself? Is it to prove to those who think I can’t? Is it because I need validation, a victory, proof? I thought starting a blog with humor would help lighten the overwhelming heavy weight this dreadful disease inflicts upon the body and mind. I must have been kidding myself. After a while it dawned on me. I was not laughing at anything that happened during the course of cancer, nor was I laughing reading about it. Humor run. jog. walk. wog. This glass at half capacity. This glass at half capacity. I went for a wog today. First time in probably a week. The weather was perfect. The timing was perfect. Yet it was the worst wog ever…. Alright perhaps that is a slight exaggeration. I have discovered that I make crutches for myself. Some may call them excuses. I think they are more like crutches because I use them to fall back on and hold my story of failing to meet a goal. I find the battle in my mind the hardest.
