As for me and my house...: April 2015
http://brittschmidt.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
The daily antics of our little family as we seek to live, love and serve the most amazing God. Friday, April 3, 2015. Carrying Elijah: the transformative journey of loving and losing my son. The journey of carrying my son Elijah lasted another 14 weeks after the diagnosis. And it was during this time that God showed up. In big ways. In small ways. In everyday activities. In the love of His people. Elijah's tiny life has had a ripple effect we could have never comprehended. By fully trusting God, we h...

The daily antics of our little family as we seek to live, love and serve the most amazing God. Wednesday, February 11, 2015. I am so excited to finally have Lucy's nursery done (minus painting the closet doors)! I am so in love with it and really happy at how little we spent to get it looking so cute. Here are some pics from last summer when we first started work. Some nicely dated wallpaper. And here is what it looks like now! And, the crib has been with us since maggie was a baby :). For all of our kid...

The daily antics of our little family as we seek to live, love and serve the most amazing God. Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Over the last two weeks, I've been working on our downstairs bathroom. One of the last rooms left to do (upstairs bathroom is next. Man room is under Kyle's jurisdiction.). So, I've got some before and after pics below. Kyle says it's probably the best room redo I've done. :) We all love it. Before: could they have possibly had more brown wood in this house? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The daily antics of our little family as we seek to live, love and serve the most amazing God. Thursday, February 27, 2014. I'm sitting by my big picture window in the living room. Trying my best to let the sunlight filtering in trick my brain into thinking it's nice outside. Not arctic. Pretending that these moments of quiet aren't necessary. Wishing they weren't so. It's that time of year. When I set aside everything else and remember. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow our Adoption Journey. Awesome In...

As for me and my house...: May 2014
http://brittschmidt.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
The daily antics of our little family as we seek to live, love and serve the most amazing God. Thursday, May 22, 2014. It's hard for me to wrap my mind around this pregnancy journey. We did not plan it, but we are thrilled. The roller coaster of emotion has been wild. Fears and elation have been the book ends so far. As Kyle and I sat eating lunch after our appointment with the specialist today, we marveled at what God has done, and is doing. I was completely shocked and even though I knew that the two v...

As for me and my house...: September 2014
http://brittschmidt.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
The daily antics of our little family as we seek to live, love and serve the most amazing God. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. I've tried to stay as positive as possible today, and not let the calendar get me down. So, here are the small victories I've focused on instead. I got an impromptu nap! I was able to grocery shop and make sure my family has food while I have to be in the hospital, and the grandparents won't have to mess with shopping on top of everything else. All the laundry is done. Subscribe to:...

The daily antics of our little family as we seek to live, love and serve the most amazing God. Thursday, April 24, 2014. It has been quite a week. We started Monday morning with a phone call we hoped to never again receive. My OB called to let us know that my quad screen test results showed an elevated risk of Downs Syndrome. It was the same call we got when we first found out there were problems with Elijah. Overall, they did not see any of the major soft markers for Downs.the Nuchal fold was perfec...

The daily antics of our little family as we seek to live, love and serve the most amazing God. Saturday, March 1, 2014. Celebrating Elijahs 2nd Birthday. A few snapshots of our celebration of Elijah weekend. So thankful to have had a low-key night out with dear friends last night and a morning just with our little family. Maggie even commented that today has been "so fun." Not what I expected, but thankful she sees it that way. :). It's good to remember. Our slight touches of baby blue for our boy.
