IT's been a long wait, but Boreham Wood finally secured their first home league win of the year, beating Herts neighbours Hemel Hempstead Town thanks to a first half goal from Junior Morias. With just minutes remaining at Meadow Park, news filtered through that Conference South leaders Bromley had been pegged back to 2-2 at Bath City, having been two goals up at half-time.

THREE years after the spectacle of London 2012, and with just one year to go until the next. Olympic Games, there's still something about visiting the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park which compels people to dig out their London 2012 and TeamGB merchandise. Branded jackets, rucksacks and at least one umbrella all made a re-appearance at Stratford this evening.

ONE year on from the start of that great sporting spectacle London 2012, the world's top athletes reconvened at the London Borough of Newham's most famous landmark for the Sainsbury's Anniversary Games. It was while on the train to Stratford this evening that I noticed the headline of the London Evening Standard's colour spread to mark the event: " London 2012 - The Encore.
