A Shoot of Hope | Traveling
https://bethanygrace.wordpress.com/2014/12/08/shoots-from-stumps
Thoughts along the way. A Shoot of Hope. 8220;There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit…They shall not hurt or destroy on my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” Isaiah 11. 8220;Suffering and solidarity with the suffering of others has an immense capacity to ‘make room’ inside of us. It is probably our primary spiritual teacher.” -Richard Rohr. Yesterday, I spoke at Redeemer Church,...

Learning2Walk: Becoming a Follower of Christ
http://learning-2-walk.blogspot.com/p/becoming-follower-of-christ.html
Becoming a Follower of Christ. Truth 1: God is the holy, just and loving Creator of all things. He is our Creator. He created people in His image and wants us to know Him. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him.". He is our Judge. We are accountable to Him. God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.". He is our Savior. We need Him. Truth 2: Apart f...

Learning2Walk: The Day My Babies Came to Visit
http://learning-2-walk.blogspot.com/2010/06/day-my-babies-came-to-visit.html
Monday, June 21, 2010. The Day My Babies Came to Visit. This is actually an old post. I had saved it as a draft on June 7th and forgotten about it. I decided just to post it as is, rather than try to go back and edit the time frame. Gosh, I miss this! Last Wednesday the kids that we tutor from the YWAM house came to visit the ship. It was so fun to be able to invite our friends to our "home.". Waiting for visitor passes. YWAM kids with my 4th and 5th grade class. Group photo outside the academy.

http://learning-2-walk.blogspot.com/2010/05/embarrassing-brother.html
Monday, May 17, 2010. Ryan is probably going to kill me for posting this. He'll just have to get over it. I missed his college graduation on Saturday, and I got a little teary looking at the pictures. Handsome, isn't he? Yeah, I think so too. Mom, Ryan, and Dad. Love you, Brother! Wish I could've been there. (And War Eagle! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Becoming a Follower of Christ. Jesus said, "I have come that they might have life, and have it abundantly." John 10:10. Learning2Walk: Strawberry Lemonade
http://learning-2-walk.blogspot.com/2010/10/strawberry-lemonade.html
Saturday, October 30, 2010. It's been a while since I've blogged, in part because of the busy-ness of school and in part because daily life in Alabama doesn't exactly seem like the stuff headlines are made of. But God has really been bringing some Scripture to life for me lately, so I thought I'd write a little bit about what He's been teaching me. We could probably all quote Romans 8:28. One of those go-to phrases we toss out when we don't know what else to say. It all started on the first of the month ...

Learning2Walk: Should I give up, or should I just keep chasin' pavement...
http://learning-2-walk.blogspot.com/2010/06/should-i-give-up-or-should-i-just-keep.html
Saturday, June 5, 2010. Should I give up, or should I just keep chasin' pavement. Even if it leads nowhere? We couldn't stop laughing when "Chasing Pavement" started playing on Kelly's iPod just past the halfway point of our trek across Togo two weeks ago. I'm not sure why we thought it would be a good idea to attempt to walk 35 miles without stopping, but let's be honest, how often do you get to say you walked across an entire country in a day? Leaving the ship at 4:45 am. Palm trees along the road.

Learning2Walk: El Qanna: My Jealous God
http://learning-2-walk.blogspot.com/2010/04/el-qanna-my-jealous-god.html
Sunday, April 18, 2010. El Qanna: My Jealous God. He says His name is Jealous. Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.". As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him; for He knows how we are formed, He remembers that we are dust.". I'm thankful for my sweet daddy. My relationship with him helps me understand God's fatherly love for me. Wow That's a pretty tough concept to grasp, especially considering I've never ...

Within the darkness, all is being changed | Traveling
https://bethanygrace.wordpress.com/2015/03/01/within-the-darkness-all-is-being-changed
Thoughts along the way. Within the darkness, all is being changed. By expenditure of hope,/Intelligence, and work, /You think you have it fixed. /It is unfixed by rule./ Within the darkness, all/ Is being changed, and you/ Also will be changed. Wendell Berry, A Timbered Choir. The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek him shall praise the Lord! Psalm 22: 26,27,30,31. The Psalm verse Jesus had yelled out was of course the opening of Psalm 22: ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? PS: R...

Good Hope | Traveling
https://bethanygrace.wordpress.com/2015/04/26/good-hope
Thoughts along the way. Is it an animal? Of course, this is an understandable question from a 4-year-old when he hears we’re going to the Cape of Good Hope. He wonders if perhaps hope is something like a lion or leopard or fish eagle, the wild things we might drive to see in this part of the world. Heidi, Lesley, and I stumble around, trying to get a grasp on the slippery concept of hope, and seeking to explain it in concrete terms. Finch has moved on because there are Oceans! Sometimes, holing up in a N...
