March | 2011 | Ramblings & Reflections

https://thoughtsbyjamie.wordpress.com/2011/03

A Tribute to Trisha Apte. March 19, 2011. Two Years Ago Today. At 12:07 am by jlp412. I remember so many vivid snapshots from the day Trisha died, but one that sticks with me the most was what a colleague said to me, innocently, without malicious intent, when I returned to work in a haze from Trisha’s funeral in Atlanta, trying to resume some semblance of normal at the office. “Is this your first? 8221; “First what? How much more do I write until I come to some sort of resolution, some way of coping?

A Tribute to Trisha Apte. March 6, 2010. At 10:28 pm by jlp412. It’s been almost one full week of March, the beginning of the month of the year anniversary of Trisha’s death. I saw her this week at this time last year, at Front Page for a group dinner with the girls and then the following day at Starbucks for a hurried final coffee one on one. I wrote “safe travels” on her Facebook wall. I said goodbye. 2 Comments ». March 16, 2010 at 6:23 pm. Your ability to communicate is simply astounding!

September | 2010 | Ramblings & Reflections

https://thoughtsbyjamie.wordpress.com/2010/09

A Tribute to Trisha Apte. September 15, 2010. At 12:24 am by jlp412. This past Sunday was the second. This year just felt different. We had new members of the Team, friends of friends who never met Trisha but ran for her anyway. We raised more money through a new fundraising site. But this year was still different. On the plane ride back to DC after the race, this feeling kept nagging at me, a kind of frantic need to affirm something. That feeling shook me out of my temporary slumber and led my hand ...

January | 2011 | Ramblings & Reflections

https://thoughtsbyjamie.wordpress.com/2011/01

A Tribute to Trisha Apte. January 22, 2011. I Still Feel Trisha. At 4:51 pm by jlp412. I still do double-takes, on the subway or on an escalator in the mall or at a Caribou Coffee downtown, when I think I see Trisha in the form of an 8 year-old girl clutching her father’s hand or a college student wearing an oversized red hoodie or a young woman in a suit walking briskly across the street as the seconds count down and the orange hand flashes its warning. No But I felt her tapestry wrapped around my shoul...

Letting Go | Ramblings & Reflections

https://thoughtsbyjamie.wordpress.com/2010/10/04/letting-go

A Tribute to Trisha Apte. October 4, 2010. At 10:50 pm by jlp412. 8220;I thought this was gonna get easier. This gettin’ over you… But love comes and goes and comes and goes as easy as the moon and sun will rise, and when I try to let you go, all I can hear my heart saying is ‘come on back inside.'” – Melissa Ferrick, “Getting Over You”. But what does it mean to let a person go, especially when she’s already gone and the only thing keeping her here is your grip on her? If not with us, then where? Notify ...

Rickshaw Ramblings–blog from abroad. My experiences working in India for a year. May 1, 2009. That’s how long ago it was that I left India. That’s how long ago it was that I last spoke to her. That’s the last time I heard her voice: we each said I love you . That’s the last time she said anything to me: a text message reading I’m going to see you in less than a month! That month has come and passed. That hour we begged for her to be ok. Now I’m back in India. Why? I still don’t know. For how long? You ar...

Only background you need is:. 1 Electricity has SUCKED…meaning past 6-7pm it’s been dark in my house most nights. And I do all of my work besides managing on the computer onlyso it makes it tough. JP starting the Puja. Woke up this morning and took a run…which of course means crazy weird looks and every so often ...

Rickshaw Ramblings–blog from abroad. My experiences working in India for a year. March 3, 2009. It’s about time I give you something to read up here. I would apologize for the long delay but I’m sure you all understand. (Or perhaps will after reading this! So what have I been up to for nearly two months? I contrast this to Paribhasha going through Patna. While she gets looked at because she’s one of the few women out on the streets (and my presence certainly doesn’t help her), people aren’t nearly as...

Rickshaw Ramblings–blog from abroad. My experiences working in India for a year. May 20, 2009. Frank comes to India. My brother is visiting and I’m showing him my town. I’m trying to show him my India. It’s a weird thought I would have done this anyway. Maybe we would have gone to Bombay to visit her? Probably not stop second guessing! This is brother time. Rickshaw Ramblings–blog from abroad. My experiences working in India for a year. December 9, 2008. I sent this to my Congressman this morning and thought it might be of interest to some of you. I look forward to discussing this issue with you:. I write this with concern for your support of the auto industry bailout bill. I recently watched your discussion. Furthermore, by providing a government bailout you significantly increase the leverage of the Big Three to ask for additional loans. What assuranc...

Poetry, Prose, and Mental Streams | Creative Works and Observations by Joe Jennings

Poetry, Prose, and Mental Streams. Creative Works and Observations by Joe Jennings. Chapter 9: Checking Sources. April 10, 2014. It was very bright outside, and Will squinted against the morning. As much as he enjoyed the weather, he felt invigorated by it, and had the sense of optimism that often overcame him when he was on an interesting case. As if on cue, a short, whiskered man with a tweed coat and a pipe sat down next to him. Don’t you ever learn? In each race no less? Phillips. Travis Phillips.
