What Matters Most

Sunday, April 1, 2012. Seven Principles of Parenting. This scripture reminds me exactly of what a parent should be. In fact, I think it would be appropriate to say, "And [a good parent] suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity . . . ". As this scripture is the basis of what a good parent should be, I have chosen to highlight seven points from it. A good parent is kind. Out children....

What Matters Most: The Love of A Father Goes A Long Way

http://www.thoughtsforfamily.blogspot.com/2011/11/love-of-father-goes-long-way.html

Wednesday, November 30, 2011. The Love of A Father Goes A Long Way. I'm a little bit behind, but I couldn't let the subject of father's get skipped. As we talked about the importance of a father's role. In class I felt so grateful for my own Dad. He has always been there. For me. He has been my provider and my protector. He is my example- my role model. I know that I would not be who I am today if it weren't for my dad. He has inspired me. He is our comic relief. He is our voice of reason.

What Matters Most: With an Eternal Perspective, All Will Be Well

http://www.thoughtsforfamily.blogspot.com/2011/11/with-eternal-perspective-all-will-be.html

Wednesday, November 23, 2011. With an Eternal Perspective, All Will Be Well. Two weeks ago I wrote about family crises and how my testimony of the gospel helps me to handle them. Today I came across this clip, and it perfectly conveys everything I was trying to say. I just had to share. Like Elder Nelson, I am so thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and for the strength it offers me in these tumultuous times. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. What Matters Most: Communication

http://www.thoughtsforfamily.blogspot.com/2011/11/communication.html

Sunday, November 6, 2011. This past week in Family Relations we talked about boundaries in a relationship and staying as far away as possible from "the line." I think this is an extremely important topic to discuss and understand because it seems like the line is getting between a lot of couples these days, Especially with technologies, such as texting and facebook. What Matters Most: Family Crisis

http://www.thoughtsforfamily.blogspot.com/2011/11/family-crisis.html

Monday, November 14, 2011. Last week we talked about different crises that can take place in a family and how to deal with them. I really enjoyed this topic because it is very applicable. No matter how perfect a family is, crisis is something that will inevitably come at some point. Death, financial struggles, illness, etc. All of these things have major effects on a family, and I enjoyed discussing how to handle them. Or "how are we so blessed when others seem to constantly struggle? Last of the heat!

JOYFUL FAMILY: November 2011

http://joyfulfamily.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Try A Little Harder To Be A Little Better. Friday, November 11. Today we discussed coping mechanisms. I find this very beneficial because we need to find strategies for crisis that come into our lives. Trials will always be there for us, it is when we take perspective and learn how to cope with trouble that we find JOY. We discussed these types of coping mechanisms that are habits and have a negative connotation:. Denial: declaring something to be untrue. Avoidance: keep away from problem. An emotional a...

Try A Little Harder To Be A Little Better. Wednesday, December 7. I know the topic is divorce, but in class we discussed things in class that were more important to me. Responsibility = Ability to Respond. You need to be more responsible? Actually means you need to do more of what I say. Courage = standing up against fear when we help encourage someone we strengthen our own heart. In a family and in a relationship you are going to need to stand up for your values and family. V The shifting of one's energy field, causing personalized enlightenment, healthier thinking, and lasting refinement. Wednesday, December 14. A Family of Two. When throughout marriage and parenting, if the husband/wife relationship is not valued above being parents, those individuals often find themselves at a loss of what to do with all their extra time as empty nesters. Some lose themselves in work. Some travel the world. I wonder just how many fall back in love with their spouse? Links to this post.

Thoughts for Ellen | a mom's heart

A mom's heart. Robin Hood and Benjamin Button. Both are fantastic cultural/literary references and have amazingly applied to our lives this week. Finances is not the only place that I have regressed in responsibility. I used to make all of the family meals. Then we moved to Grand Rapids, and your father began to take over all of the cooking. I love to cook, but seriously, who is going to argue with less work that results in fantastic food? While analyzing this I can’t figure out if this is:. In case you ...

Thoughts For Everyone | Just another view on life

Just another view on life. What this site is all about! February 3, 2012. This was a major turning point in my recovery. There was something else though too that must be mentioned, a some. End of Part 1. January 21, 2012. Yesterday I wrote about an experience. That I had some ten years ago that changed my life. There is, however, something I would like to clarify from that post before going on to write about how I managed to find myself in that situation in the first place. 8221; Yeah, good one. Holidays, sun, snow but what about my personal challenge? To start again, let’s first sum up what I learned/did since the beginning:. 8211; A lot of food is wasted because of the structure of the food chain. 8211; Households don’t realize the amount of food they waste mostly because they don’t eat the products before the expire date or they cook too much. How could this situation be improved? Awareness and education could be a possible answer but it will take time…. I wish you a Merry Christmas! Today, I...
