The House of Smiths: back to school
http://katieandkelly.blogspot.com/2015/08/back-to-school.html
Thursday, August 13, 2015. Yesterday was a big day at the Smith house. Cooper had his first day of second grade at his new school, and I began my ninth year of teaching. Crazy! The day before I asked Coop is he was nervous about going to a new school. He said, "No, Mom, I have a plan. I'm going to look for kids that are like me and ask if they want to play. So I'm going to steer clear of the smart, brainy kids, and look for the clumsy, funny kids.". I seriously laughed all day about it. Back in the day.

The House of Smiths: arboretum
http://katieandkelly.blogspot.com/2015/08/arboretum.html
Monday, August 10, 2015. We went to the OP Arboretum a couple times this summer and it did not disappoint. The mild, wet weather meant everything was so green! I forgot to post these pictures from earlier this summer. I'm already longing for the lazy days of summer and we haven't been back to school a week! They are constantly adding new things to the kid area of the arboretum. These rainbow tires were so fun. High knees, high knees! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Back in the day. Back in the day.

The House of Smiths: lil fishies
http://katieandkelly.blogspot.com/2015/07/lil-fishies.html
Saturday, July 25, 2015. We have been doing a lot of swimming this summer, and both boys have turned into little fish. Cooper would stay in the water all day long if we'd let him. This summer he has mastered a front flip off the side, and just yesterday he went off the high dive for the first time. He was SO proud of himself! This is a kid that used to freak out anytime his feet left the ground. He has started swimming without his floaties and does ok if he just sticks to the shallow end. Back in the day.

The House of Smiths: summer lovin'
http://katieandkelly.blogspot.com/2015/07/summer-lovin.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. I cannot believe we have less than a week of summer left. Seriously, where has it gone? We are trying to savor these last few days before the crazy begins again. Last week my cousin, Donna, was visiting from Maine, so we took a trip to Manhattan to see her and the rest of the family. It was so great to see all the aunties and cousins, and the younger generation had fun swimming and playing, too. We were so excited to visit on the first day of sweet corn season! Back in the day.

Sunday, August 2, 2015. Ahhh, yes, it's that time of year again. The ferris wheel lights in the distance, the smell of cow poop in the air, the taste of funnel cakes, and the sound of crashing cars. It could only mean one thing.it's demolition derby time! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Back in the day. Back in the day.

The House of Smiths: oh, everett
http://katieandkelly.blogspot.com/2015/08/oh-everett.html
Saturday, August 15, 2015. Destroying happiness one child at a time. This photo is totally unrelated to the happiness destroying incident, but Everett told me a while back that this is how he is going to count the number one on his fingers. Well, alrighty then! That should go over well at school. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Back in the day. Back in the day.

The House of Smiths: racin'
http://katieandkelly.blogspot.com/2015/08/racin.html
Saturday, August 8, 2015. Last weekend we went out to the speedway to watch Papa drive a race car 144 mph around the track. I think it's safe to say, he had the largest (and rowdiest! Cheering section of the day. Everett thought the cars were really "wowd.". Cooper and Charlie were so excited to be reunited once again. These two sure do have some fun together! Go, Papa, go!
