Slim pickings | The Thrifty Camera Hunter

https://thriftycamerahunter.wordpress.com/2014/12/22/slim-pickings

The Thrifty Camera Hunter. Scouring thrift shops and junk stores, I find cameras to clean up, fix up, and use. I haven’t had a lot of time for camera hunting lately, as you can see by my lack of updates. When I have had time, I’ve come up empty. This Saturday, we hit up a few antiques stores close to home. Antique stores are pretty notorious for being far too high priced. I found a couple of things, but nothing at all I couldn’t live without. That’s a bit ambitious! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. The Thrifty Camera Hunter. Scouring thrift shops and junk stores, I find cameras to clean up, fix up, and use. Not cameras, but still cool finds. Today, I checked out a new (to us) thrift store and found some low end point and shoots and a few odds and ends. I bought a whole box of stuff marked darkroom equipment. It was marked $15, but I got them down to $10. One thought on “ Not cameras, but still cool finds. February 9, 2015 at 4:20 pm. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. My Photograp...

Canada, Stop Breathing On Us! January 30, 2014. So, we hunkered down and dealt with that, thinking, ok, THIS is the major chill we’ll get this winter. Oh, not so. That Polar Vortex was so not done. Oh, snow it didn’t! Yes, it snow did. We got THREE inches of snow here in Macon! I have never seen that much snow in person, and may not again in my lifetime (not challenging you or anything, TPV). It was crazy. Of course, I took pictures. Now that would truly be insane. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Create a fr...

Friday, January 6, 2012. I am in the RCMP/Canadian Forces, can I deduct haircuts on my tax return? From time to time, police officers, and soldiers ask the question, can I deduct the cost of haircuts that are required in the performance of duty. Not surprisingly, this question has been brought before the Tax Court of Canada. My superiors required me to have my hair cut every two weeks and failure to do so might lead to disciplinary measures against me for conduct detrimental to good order and discipline.
