Monday, 29 June 2009. Friday, 27 March 2009. The brief of the thriller production that we had to meet was to create a two minutes opening to a thriller and include titles. Our thriller opening is consistent with the thriller horror sub-genre as we followed a traditional path of storylines where a vulnerable girl plays the main character and something bad happens to her. Whether it is at the begging middle or end of the film the whole story will be about what happens to her. Our audience is most likely to...

Wednesday, 24 June 2009. In my magazine, the black colour is domineering because it is the most popular colour in rock social group therefore I thought that this colour will successfully represent the social group that I have chosen. As my magazine is mainly targeted at young audience, the best place to distribute the magazine is of course college or school. I think that the company that might distribute my magazine would be a small independent distribution company such as Campus Connect Inc. This is the...

Tuesday, 14 July 2009. Wednesday, 6 May 2009. On the whole we all worked well together and helped one another out and I now have a insight into what filming is about and how uneasy it can be at times and also how much hard work is put in by the directors and producers not only the ’stars’ and main characters of the film but behind the scenes. Sunday, 29 March 2009. As research we the film ‘The Shining’. This is a very famous thriller which uses shots to portray its genre. I learnt that to have a successful thriller you have to have a lot of long shots. This is to not only show the mise-en-scene but so you can capture what is going on behind the character on screen. This definitely creates a tense, Nail biting feeling. Friday, 27 March 2009. Thursday, 26 March 2009. Tuesday, 24 March 2009. So today we started editing - i'd used final cut pro b...

I forgot to add this peice of information to my evaluation and did not want to edit the blog today in fear of loosing marks, so i thought my best option was to post it as a seperate blog. We went to the cinema 'Vue' located in Angel, Islington's N1 Centre. It was ironic as people who were our target market for our thriller were the most likely people to visit this type of cinema, rather than independent cinema's that mainly focus on showing British made movies.

Sunday, 5 April 2009. In the opening of Se7en they edited it really well using creepy writing and used extreme-close-ups on the person’s hands well also because you don’t ever see the persons face which makes it freakier. In our thriller we used techniques from the films we watched:. The famous picture from the 1980s film psycho. Our thriller’s knife shot. I think if our opening was a complete film it would be released by film4 because as they promote English/ UK films and we are based in the UK. Due to ...
