Thursday, June 17, 2010. Where all the lights are bright. One would think that, given school's out for the summer, I'd actually have time to update this thing on a regular basis, right? I'll work on it. For now, here's some relatively new art:. This Photoshoppery mess was tossed together last March. I can't decide if I like it or not. it doesn't really match the image I had in my head, but that image was foggy at best. So yeah. Inspired by Petula Clark's song Downtown. The June/July cover for Terrouge.

Through the Dreamscope: Ahoy thar!

http://www.throughthedreamscope.blogspot.com/2010/04/ahoy-thar.html

Wednesday, April 21, 2010. I think it's about time to get this blog properly started. What will it be about? It'll be my art blog. Not a sketch blog, as I've got a LiveJournal for that, but a place to post my better work. There will be finished art, the occasional sketch, and who knows what else - only time will tell. My only hopes are that I keep improving as time goes on, and that others enjoy my work. So, who am I? Where else can I be found? Yes, yes, I know this is cheesy. Hush.). Aw, thanks, Kavs!

Thursday, April 29, 2010. Diggin' through the archives. I've got a small handful of works from the last year that I think would be worth posting, among which are some illustrations done for the Redwall e-zine, Terrouge. I like doing work for Terrouge not just because I've been a fan of the site since I was twelve (oh gosh, does that seem long ago.), but it's also an excellent way to exercise my illustrating abilities (which are amateurish at best, but I'm working on it! That's all for now! I'll be honest...

Through the Dreamscope: Suspension of Disbelief

http://www.throughthedreamscope.blogspot.com/2010/04/suspension-of-disbelief.html

Sunday, April 25, 2010. I'll be honest; I'm pretty darn pleased with this piece. It's certainly far from perfect, but never before have I had a ballpoint sketch turn out well enough for me to want to take it the whole way in Photoshop. Aside from a little bit of clean-up around the character, the lines are completely composed of the original sketch. Oddly enough, this piece was born out of art block. But as I was attempting a sketch-a-day project* (inspired by the amazing character artist Chris Ayers.

Hoppin a train cuz its a long long way. But Im horizon bound! Created on 12 January 2009 (#18018839). Last updated on 12 October 2010. Young lady of questionable sanity; at least in societal terms. When not grounded in reality, she can be seen traversing snowy fields, sprawling landscapes, ancient strongholds, and luminescent cities. Sometimes in the company of peculiar characters. Often has her head in the clouds; more often than not she’d rather be there than here. Wants to take over the world.

Paint and Paws: Why a Service Dog?

http://paintandpaws.blogspot.com/2010/04/why-service-dog.html

Apr 11, 2010. Why a Service Dog? So, why a service dog and how would one help me? There are many reasons, some deeper and more complicated than I feel I could explain clearly in writing, but for the main and most important reasons, here is a list I have compiled the lay out how a service dog would help to better my daily life:. Act as a counter-balance while walking with the use of a special harness. Navigate me around objects and people when in crowds and other disorienting environments. How you can help.

Fish out of water, dragon in the making. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Posted in On being young. Crouching tiger hidden dragon. On November 4, 2014 by growingscales. I am being haunted by a culture. It hounds me, relentless. It raps at my windows in the middle of the night and says Don’t forget me! Here’s what I think: You cannot escape your passions. You should never even try to escape them. They will haunt you for your entire life. It is the duty of dreamers to let themselves be haunted. NOTE: This i...

Through the Dragon Gate. Fish out of water, dragon in the making. January 8, 2017. January 8, 2017. Spring Festival is approaching, and for the first time in a long time, I have no major trips planned. Not because I’ve stopped liking travel, but because a) I just got back from a 3-week trip to America to see family and friends, and b) am going to be staying back to watch the cats while my roommate goes home to see her own family! I’m not a Churchy Person! May 23, 2013 · 4:28 pm. I Want to Help! Lately there have been some disasters in my area. Tornadoes in Granbury and Oklahoma, the explosion in West, TX…and after each of these, I get emails from people in my church wanting to respond. I also get emails from the many different organizations I work with asking for a monetary response but nothing more. I’ve found myself thinking about an article, “How Not to Say the Wrong Thing”. What do you think? Tagged as disaster response.
