Winter is coming – friggja
https://friggja.wordpress.com/2016/10/11/winter-is-coming
Which means autumn has arrived…. I do love the autumn colours. And the scents…. Beautiful dried flower silhouets. The hawthorn is beautiful again. If you look very very closely, you can see a tiny glimpse of a rainbow in the sky. I was constantly catching small hints of colour in the clouds, even though it hasn’t rained for weeks. Busy working on the latest baby blanket… the baby has been born already, so I have to be quick! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

Floodfields living up to their name…. The last couple of weeks the water levels of the Rijn and Waal have been very high. When we went to one of our favorite walking spots, Kim and I found out we couldn’t actually get to the river side. Or that, y’know, the river side had crept up into the flood lands. Should’ve brought our swimsuits! This is the place where the water actually flooded into the fields beyond it. Looks impressive, huh! I could feel it tugging at my boots. Pretty in the setting evening sun!

As said, I’m mostly busy crocheting baby gifts! This cute little baby elephant is named Olivier. It was a gift for a baby of a friend. Isn’t it cute? Look at its little feet! Two more baby blankets to finish after this, and then let’s hope people keep the reproducing to a minimum for a while so we can focus on other projects *grin*. You can find Olivier’s (free) pattern here. The people around us keep reproducing. A good reason to keep crocheting! It’s big enough now to fit the dog *grin* It also k...

Baby bunny – friggja
https://friggja.wordpress.com/2016/09/10/baby-bunny
Aaaaand… another baby gift! Crocheted a cute little bunny for a cute little baby boy. I don’t have any progress photo’s of the little bunny I made, but the new mommy was so nice to send me a picture of the toy in use! I think I used/adapted a pattern for the head, but I can’t find it back anymore. The waffle cloth pattern is of my own making. Don’t know what pattern was used for the baby. Working on the newest baby blanket…. Giant granny square blanket. We also went for more walks by the river. All the cows. They look so pretty against the autumn sky. Just look at them lying there, perfectly mirrored! I think this is my favorite picture. I love their faces. Follow friggja on WordPress.com. I love green grass. Randwijk versus Den Haag. So my jeans always,. Tear just underneath my butt after about a year of wearing them. Of course this happens to my favorite pair of the moment, since that’s the pair I’m always wearing. It’s a combination of the stone washing that they do to jeans nowadays, my rigorous wearing them, and probably something to do with the shape of my thighs/bum and the amount of walking I do in jeans. Perfect pair of jeans – all the other ones are okay, but never perfect. Of course. But not this time! Something to it’...

It’s growing colder – friggja
https://friggja.wordpress.com/2016/12/02/its-growing-colder
It’s growing colder. The days are very dark. This doesn’t always make me happy, but I must admit the changing light does something to me. I love the contrasts that you get this time of year: the bright blue of the sky with the dark silhouettes, the grey water…. Some days it’s grey and wet, the hawthorn collecting droplets from the air. They look like tiny diamonds. The icy blues contrast so beautifully with the golden yellows…. This red one strayed onto my inlaws’ property, looking rather rugged an...
