http://aprilslifeinlynchburg.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
My Life in Lynchburg. Monday, May 18, 2009. Yep, I'm still here. I'm 3 days away from "finishing" my Microbiology class and heading home! I'm taking a 4 week Microbiology intensive; 2 weeks here at school, and the next 2 weeks through e mails at home. My teacher has been very helpful and understanding towards the fact that I have to start work on May 26th, and has agreed to let me take quizzes and tests through a proctor (a.k.a. parent) at home. What a great change of pace! Thursday, May 14, 2009. And if...

http://aprilslifeinlynchburg.blogspot.com/2010/04/weekends-with-cousins.html
My Life in Lynchburg. Monday, April 19, 2010. Weekends With The Cousins. A few weekends ago, Katie came down with Mom and Aunt Becki for a visit (during the time of the rat) and tour of the nursing department! Here's Katie learning how to prime an IV line and hook it up into the IV pump. Aunt Becki had just said, "Look! She flicks the tube just like a nurse! How did she know there's a special flicking motion that you learn in nursing school? Last weekend, Mom, Matt, Bryce, and Brandon came to visit!

My Life in Lynchburg. Friday, April 30, 2010. A few friends are getting married after graduation, and my close friend Kelsie is among them! She is getting married in July, and I couldn't be happier for her. I had a great time celebrating with friends the soon-to-be Mrs. Josh Saefkow. Kelsie was my roommate freshman year and has been a great friend and study partner throughout nursing school :). May 4, 2010 at 12:37 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My Life in Lynchburg: February 2009
http://aprilslifeinlynchburg.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
My Life in Lynchburg. Monday, February 23, 2009. This has never seemed so true, because as a nursing student, you know what can. I spent a few hours today in our Nursing Lab. We learned about caring for a Mother and Baby during and after labor. And you know what? I think I want to adopt. Just kidding, I think. Did you know that if a baby has an abnormal drop in heart rate, from compression of the cord, you can try re-positioning the Mom? Hey, that happened to. When I was being born.). And have a lot of a...

My Life in Lynchburg. Saturday, October 31, 2009. April Wilson, Photographer. I have been having a fun time as Liberty Nursing Student Association's photographer. Yesterday, I shadowed the juniors while they had Simulation Lab. This lab takes the place of one of their regular scheduled hospital clinicals. Here's Sim Man. He talks. He Coughs. He vomits (not really, but he makes the noise of vomiting)! Let's call the doctor! Behind that double sided mirror is the teacher who is making Sim Man do everything...

My Life in Lynchburg: August 2009
http://aprilslifeinlynchburg.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
My Life in Lynchburg. Saturday, August 29, 2009. Umm, yes, please, I'd like to work with children. Thanks. Today was my first hospital shift/experience of my senior year. This clinical was for my Preceptorship class on the Cardiovascular Recovery Unit. Patients come to this floor after they have open heart surgery to recover before they are transferred to another unit. And boy, what a day! Gee whiz, that's a ton! A 4-6 hour open heart surgery, but I will be able to care for the patients afterwards, when ...
