Hoe beangstigend kunnen bergen zijn. Als je daar alleen loopt. Als je nog onder de boomgrens bent. Niet precies wetend of je wel goed loopt. Je kansen berekenend, dat pad daar net rechtsaf. Had ik die niet moeten nemen? Op die momenten is alleen wel heel alleen. Donkere paden steil omhoog. Hoe mooi ook. Als je daar een vossenstaart ziet wegglippen. Het land van ooit. Nee ik ben niet in een pretpark, alhoewel, het is hoe je het bekijkt. Nein, ik ben in Oberau, op de grens van Duitsland en Oostenrijk. Ik ben er voor de tweede keer, vorig jaar sliep ik in Salzburg. Salzburg is mooi, de bergen zijn nog mooier. Eigenlijk heb ik weinig gezien toen van Salzburg. Ik verwelkom je gelijk’. Dat zei een surinaamse man terwijl hij me met gemene oogjes aankeek. Ik liep op dat moment een parkeergarage in. Ik hoorde nog wat vage woorden over racisme. Ik voelde me niet welkom. Maar reageren op zo’n man is niet verstandig. Hij keek me na, ik keek naar hem. Ik stapte in mijn auto en reed weg. Ik zie hem in mijn spiegel uitdagend naar me kijken. Het is niet de eerste keer. Een keer in de zoveel tijd wordt ik op agressieve manier benaderd. Dit bericht werd geplaatst in Bestaan.
