Capturing the Days

Trying to remember all the funny things my children say and do. And the rest of life too. Thursday, February 6, 2014. Just a few questions I fielded and observations made tonight while watching the Olympics with the kids. How do they stay on that [snowboard]? How do they keep going? How do they get up the hill? What color is bronze? Is bronze 2nd or 3rd? Are the medals really made out of gold, silver and bronze? Where are the people that are watching them? Is there anybody on the hill? Is that the winner?

Capturing the Days: Spider Night

http://www.tleadventures.blogspot.com/2013/10/spider-night.html

Trying to remember all the funny things my children say and do. And the rest of life too. Friday, October 4, 2013. Is it in the bathtub with you Casey? No, then take your bath. Jack, go get your clothes on. I told them spiders eat other bugs and to leave it alone. I don't normally let spiders live in my house so that they'll eat other bugs, but I thought it would get the kids to move on. I wondered what would make him say she was having babies.did he see a sack somewhere? The adult conversation was going...

Capturing the Days: June 2013

http://www.tleadventures.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Trying to remember all the funny things my children say and do. And the rest of life too. Friday, June 28, 2013. Jack's Bowling Birthday Party. Sometimes Jack gets the short end of the stick with birthday parties. He gets parties, but they don't get quite the time and effort that Casey's do. Of course he hasn't noticed a difference so in the end it seems to work out for us. Casey is still asking what kind of crafts we're going to do at Jack's party though. As soon as the boys got here, an epic Star Wars ...

Capturing the Days: October 2013

http://www.tleadventures.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Trying to remember all the funny things my children say and do. And the rest of life too. Monday, October 14, 2013. Fall Break - St. Louis. Last week the kids had a week off from school for fall break. We didn't have any big plans at first but then we decided on a few days in St. Louis. I figured I might be ready to get out of the house by Thursday! That was in a cave like area that we hadn't explored yet. When we left, Casey said it was the most awesome place she had been. At the base of the Arch. They ...

Capturing the Days: January 2013

http://www.tleadventures.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Trying to remember all the funny things my children say and do. And the rest of life too. Tuesday, January 8, 2013. Touring Memphis before Christmas. They just wanted to go home and play. We did get around the area a bit though. So we saw no duck marching but we just enjoyed the gorgeous Christmas decorations in the lobby and the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. There was a huge gingerbread village with a train that travels around it that entertains the kids. There was live piano music&...Final...

Capturing the Days: Pete the Cat Visits Casey

http://www.tleadventures.blogspot.com/2013/10/pete-cat-visits-casey.html

Trying to remember all the funny things my children say and do. And the rest of life too. Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Pete the Cat Visits Casey. We had to make a poster all about Casey, take Pete the Cat around all weekend while journaling his activities and get ready for Show'n'Tell on Friday. I also got to go read her class a book and have lunch with her one day. I had a fun and busy adventure with Casey’s family this past weekend! Apparently I just missed the tooth fairy by a night. Casey was very e...

OH! The Places We'll Go...: June 2012

http://ourlittlenavylife.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Happy Birthday, Eli! I am a few weeks late here, but. HAPPY FOURTH BIRTHDAY, ELIAS! From the day you were born, you wanted to be seen and heard! You were a total shock to the system and you constantly push me to be a better, gentler, more calm mother (because if we all lived in your world.). I know, without a doubt, that without you I'd never know what it was like to be pushed to the brink -but for the better! One day you are going to be an AMAZING leader (like your father! I'm i...

OH! The Places We'll Go...: The Bucket List

http://ourlittlenavylife.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-bucket-list.html

Sunday, February 24, 2013. The last week was rough (it usually is, no matter how long the deployment) but we managed to start on our DC Bucket List. I drove the boys to Annapolis for coffee on a freezing, rainy day. We also drove the GW Parkway to Great Falls on a different rainy day and hit the National Air and Space museum -Udvar-Hazy Center. Nothing huge, but it's a start AND we are on our way to a MUCH better week! Please email me when you get a chance, I have a question about your blog!

OH! The Places We'll Go...: April 2012

http://ourlittlenavylife.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, April 19, 2012. Monday was absolutely gorgeous, so the boys and I made it a beach day. It was our favorite homeschool lesson of the week: how to absorb vitamin D! This was also (probably) our last visit to a favorite spot for the busy season. I like to avoid the crowds and use the bases around here for beach access. Deacon enjoyed a few snacks while watching Turner and Eli play like goons in the freezing ocean! Digging for sand fleas! Eli did the digging and Turner did the creature capturing.

OH! The Places We'll Go...: 2012 In Review

http://ourlittlenavylife.blogspot.com/2012/12/2012-in-review.html

Monday, December 31, 2012. 2012 started off with old friends in DC. We rang in the new year old folks style (complete with early bed time by some) with the Halls. Just enough fun with three young kids. We focused on school in January and February since John was busy at work. With deployment looming, his crew was busy with work-ups and all that stuff that goes along with leaving for months on end. A little bit of snow in February. Reading Night of the Moon Jellies. The boys and I in Arlington. May was don...

OH! The Places We'll Go...: August 2011

http://ourlittlenavylife.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Wednesday, August 31, 2011. FIVE years ago, this little dude made his way in to our lives. I can't believe how many years have gone by! As much as I'm sad to see the time pass, I sure am happy to be done with four! The very first picture of our newly minted five year old. Sleepy eyes and all. Cake batter pancakes (I know, they sounded terrible but were surprisingly mild! He was SUPER excited to wear the birthday crown and to sit in the birthday chair. Gift from Eli: alien legos! And more legos from Deacon.

Monday, January 9, 2012. A Fish In Water. There are times when I'm sure we're going to doubt whether or not we're making the right decisions for our kids (like Turner and soccer or the time I gave Eli paint and then walked away), but enrolling Eli in gymnastics is not one of them. It was like watching a fish return to water, peanut butter suction on to jelly, or a fat kid noshing on cake. It was just meant to be. These pictures were taken from my phone, behind a window.*. OH! The Places We'll Go...: January 2013

http://ourlittlenavylife.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 20, 2013. Turner has waited his entire life (yes, really) to join Scouts. He was so happy this past September when the time had finally come for him to join our local pack! We've had a busy few weeks with my new business, John's schedule and then finding out deployment and our move is going to happen earlier than expected! We did make time for Turner to design and make his first ever derby car, though. Turner's design. He wanted a medical humvee. The next day, the handwriting. For the sta...

OH! The Places We'll Go...: Christmas 2012

http://ourlittlenavylife.blogspot.com/2012/12/christmas-2012.html

Wednesday, December 26, 2012. Another Christmas come and gone. I'm so thankful for a video camera, a DSLR and my smartphone. Between the three, I can capture every image, word and memory my heart desires. While I love just being in the moment and not taking pictures or recording video clips, having those digital bits to cherish later makes me happy! Grain free, artificial dye free gingerbread boys! Toby the Elf made his second annual appearance. Was read aloud at the open house. Reading The Pajama Elf.

OH! The Places We'll Go...: School Update

http://ourlittlenavylife.blogspot.com/2013/01/school-update.html

Tuesday, January 8, 2013. Things are moving right along here at Full Sail Academy! We did some school work immediately after returning from a trip to New Jersey just to try to get back in to the groove quickly. This week is supposed to be our week back to normal (whatever that is) but our Monday started off slow. Daddy's alarm clock mysteriously turned itself off at 5am so we all got up late! That's all for now! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm in here, somewhere. Right now I'm: covered in dir...
