Kristin Baird: Teaching Methods Readings 1
http://kristinmbaird.blogspot.com/2013/01/teaching-methods-readings-1.html
Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Teaching Methods Readings 1. This week's readings for Teaching Methods were very interesting. It is understood that you need to be able to teach to each student individually, but that is a pretty daunting task. When reading about the 16 Myers-Briggs personality types, I realized that most students will fall under one of these categories, and the article provided ways to best reach these personalities, and specific stressors to avoid. Kristin Baird: September 2011
http://kristinmbaird.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 30, 2011. Gotta love the internet. I randomly stumbled upon this. Artist's website. I'm loving his use of mass-produced, man-made materials. Thursday, September 22, 2011. I just stumbled upon this artist. S website. The form her work takes, as far as the wall sculptures, really intrigues me and is a direction I've been thinking of taking in my own work. Her website is really catching too. This post is mostly just a spot for me to jot down her name so I don't forget. Well my first couple...

Tuesday, November 1, 2011. I've been looking at Tony Feher. S work lately. I really enjoy his use of mass-produced materials and consciousness of formal elements such as line and color. I'd love to read his artist statement, but I can't find it anywhere. He doesn't have a personal website. I've also been looking at Eva Hesse. I think what draws me to her work is her use of line and transparencies. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). CCAD's MFA: New Projects Blog. View my complete profile.

Wednesday, October 12, 2011. Painting straight on plexiglass has begun. I broke up the painting into several smaller panels. I'm interested in the idea of breaking the mold of the rectangle as the support of the painting, and also in the possibilities multiple panels may present. Not sure how I will hang them yet but I'm interested in ways other than just hung on the wall. Perhaps suspended from the ceiling or stacked on the floor? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Kristin Baird: Google SketchUp
http://kristinmbaird.blogspot.com/2011/10/google-sketchup_12.html
Wednesday, October 12, 2011. My first attempt at using Google SketchUp. I created a mock-up of a project that's been floating around in my head. It would consist of resin or acrylic tubes with layers of paint suspended throughout. Obviously, a really rough sketch, but it was nice being exposed to a program that has a lot of potential for sketching out ideas in three dimensions. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Book of Mormon: To All Nations Everywhere
The Book of Mormon: To All Nations Everywhere. Wednesday, February 9, 2011. The goal here is for people to understand that any institution, any collection of people, is really just a manifestation of the beliefs of its members.". Scott Swofford, director of media in the LDS Church's Missionary Department. I commented in my earlier posts. That the Book of Mormon, a key to conversion, is a personal account of the happenings on the American continent. Here's my thought process:. The reason literature exists...

MAKING DISCIPLES | Matthew 28:19
Day 6 (06-30-2011) Final Day. I thank everyone that prayed yesterday or today for the rain to withhold. It’s 8:28 and were heading to Mexico. We continue to drive and it starts pouring. We know the canal is going to be super muddy. As we turn down the road to head down the canal we realize it’s very muddy and we get to the safe house safe. ;D! I thought that was so thoughtful and it showed me that those people care for if not more than we care about them! Homemade pottery made for us). We fellowship unde...

March 2, 2016. This blog has been silent. My camera has been quietly sitting on my shelf, collecting dust. First, checkout the snow we had this winter. It was amazing. They called it Blizzard Jonas, and the drifts were as high as my waist. So much fun! January 16, 2016.
