I will also be redoing each of the horse's profiles and my personal page, but that is a big task and it will be a gradual change. Edensparellijourney will not be deleted because I want the content to remain available for myself and my followers, so no worries. Head on over to the new one, check it out, and enjoy! Eden's Horsemanship Journey: Recent Happenings... Including a Trip to Cavalia!
http://edensparellijourney.blogspot.com/2010/05/recent-happenings-including-trip-to.html
Monday, May 3, 2010. Recent Happenings. Including a Trip to Cavalia! Now, onto Cavalia. For those of you who don't know what "Cavalia" is, you can find out more here. Or just keep reading this post as I attempt to explain. Simply put, it is close to a Cirque de Soleil show, only it involves, and is centered around, horses. Friends of mine went to see it and raved about it, and when Mom and I heard they were coming to Charlotte (3.5 hours away from Roanoke), we bought tickets right away. Following the sho...

Eden's Horsemanship Journey: Red Letter Day
http://edensparellijourney.blogspot.com/2010/04/red-letter-day.html
Tuesday, April 20, 2010. I started the ride by having her get a nice working walk, and getting her soft and thinking through her turns. Once I got that going really nicely I played around with a lot of walk-trot-walk transitions to get her trot smoother and not so bracy and quick. The only area we had to work through a bit was in the swampy area. She got a little worried about going through all the wet grass and mud, but after I kept asking her, she finally went through it nicely. I spent a bit of time a...

Eden's Horsemanship Journey: A Visit to VT and Another Good Session
http://edensparellijourney.blogspot.com/2010/04/visit-to-vt-and-another-good-session.html
Sunday, April 18, 2010. A Visit to VT and Another Good Session. Following the seminar we were directed over to the equine facility, in which they were holding a horse show in memory of Emily Hilscher. I was able to meet one of the Equine Science majors who was waiting for her class in the show, and she was really helpful in telling me about the classes and the riding team. All in all I had a really great day at VT and I am definitely seriously considering the school for the fall of 2011. My Horse Won't Go.

Eden's Horsemanship Journey: December 2010
http://edenshorsemanshipjourney.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 2, 2010. As mentioned in my previous post, I am here to write about a very special, new horse that has entered my life: Stormy. This 16.2 hh chestnut beauty is 12 years old, built like a warmblood, and has the coolest personality. She is a Belgian/Thoroughbred cross, and she is currently living out on Terrie's farm. Terrie is actually the one who introduced her and I. Last Friday, I met up with Jennie and her Mom, Stormy's owners. We spent an afternoon at the barn together, riding ...

Eden's Horsemanship Journey: August 2010
http://edenshorsemanshipjourney.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Once again, I must apologize for my lack of updates on this blog. I am preparing for starting college next week, riding riding riding, working quite a bit, and also my cousin and aunt came into town this past week. So, since things are a bit slow today, I figured I'd take advantage of it and give y'all some updates! Charlotte made nice changes that day, however the treatment needed more than just that one session, so Rhonda also came back out this past Sunday. All in all the tre...

Eden's Horsemanship Journey: Settling Stormy
http://edenshorsemanshipjourney.blogspot.com/2011/01/settling-stormy.html
Tuesday, January 4, 2011. I rode her again a couple days later bareback, and we ended up venturing our into the world outside the fence. I rode her down the driveway some, along with in our yard a bit. She did well again, but she did seem more distracted than in her previous ride. This past Saturday, Mom and I both went out to ride, and boy was that fun! We headed back to the barn afterwards, but we both had a great time on that ride, and I believe the horses enjoyed it just as much as we did. Old Parell...

Eden's Horsemanship Journey: Woody
http://edenshorsemanshipjourney.blogspot.com/p/hollywood-spice-woody.html
My family acquired Woody from our friend and farrier, Terrie. She had been given Woody to wean when he was a yearling, and had had him on her farm ever since. The lady who bred his parents, Esther Miller, was another family friend, and was ParellI Natural Horsemanship trainer. Interestingly, Woody's father actually came directly from the Chincoteague Island, however his mom was born and raised in captivity. Full Name: Hollywood Spice. Age: 10 years old. Favorite Toy: the pedestal. My Partners and I.
