The 2014 GRTTC marked the 9th successful ride as hundreds of cyclists - for the second year in a row - rode in freezing cold weather to the Capitol to show their support for better bicycling in Georgia! ABOUT THE 2016 EVENT. Greetings, Georgia cyclists and supporters of better bicycling! Please note that the Ride to the Capitol will resume in 2017 and that there is not a ride planned for 2016. The 2015 event was nearly perfect: great weather, fantastic crowd, new finish at Liberty Plaza, Governor Deal at the podium and a host of elected officials on the ride. The two police-escorted routes for 2015 are:. The Roswell and Decatur routes. Cyclists on both routes will have police escorts to the Capitol. As in the past, the rides back are not. Decatur will be 5 miles one-way, with some hills, and ridden at a slow pace. The Decatur route starts at the north parking lot of the East Lake MARTA rail station. The Most Pleasant Exhaustion. Monday, April 15, 2013. The flags flying half s taff. At Georgia Gwinnett College.). On Monday, I spent more time following the Boston Marathon than I ever had. I watched the entire men's and women's races online, both of which were very exciting (for totally different reasons). I also tracked five friends, including two athletes that I coach. I had a ball. Alas, my enjoyment turned to horror- just as everyone's did- at the 4:09 mark of the race. So you should check it out.
