A world on our feet……. Day 14 and its Bastille Day. Its a bit surprising how often French shops like to shut – Sunday of course oh and then naturally Monday afternoon too and yes today being a major hol. Of course nothing is working. We’re lucky if we hit shops at the right time but then it is hot so I suppose that’s a good enough excuse! Who knows…. We’ve had another dog incident but this one just wanted a walk and used us as excuse! Anything that cold and thirst quenching. A delightfully smug holy cow.

A world on our feet……. St Jean De Pied Port – made it this far! We have made it – all way from Le Puy en Velay…… It seems like another world when we started a month ago. Besides this new part seeming like being a whole new venture, it was so very different weather wise. I was fairly amazed to walk into town today through St Jacques Porte in the pouring rain! We’ve had a brilliant day off in a town called Moissac – very old, Abbey dates from 11th c and it’s still rather special, and it’s been a good day. And good food…. A world on our feet……. Santiago (second time around). We have had the most wonderful few days walking out to the coast! It was quite glorious. Again the weather has been been fantastic – sometimes overcast and terrifically humid but rain only on one afternoon which started literally as we walked into our hostel for the night and by the time we reached the end of Spain the clouds had vanished and we had clear blue skies and cool sunshine (cool enough for my jacket! A world on our feet……. Bull running, Ernest Hemingway and Pilgrims – and fiestas, of course. The crossing over the Pyrenees, The Route Napoleon, was tough, I cannot lie!
