On the Road: septiembre 2009

http://www.travelnater.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Lunes, 21 de septiembre de 2009. Chronicles of Ecuador, 9/9/09 (an auspicious date for transformation) to 11/15/09. Otavalo: 9/11 - 9/13. For a country named after the equator that passes through her, Ecuador can be cold - her altitude, apparently, to blame. It is coldest in the morning. Here in Otavalo, the morning chill seems to seep into my shirt and stay in it, below the fabric, inescapable. I have no camera. I apologize. The Amazon: 9/14 - 9/18. The Amazon is a poet's dream. It's almost too easy!

On the Road: Combustion in Cambodia

http://www.travelnater.blogspot.com/2009/09/combustion-in-cambodia.html

Domingo, 6 de septiembre de 2009. This summer I led a trip to Cambodia with Putney Student Travels. Not something I can sum up in the matter of minutes I am allotting to this blog entry, but I will try. Our journeys took us from Phnom Penh, to Kampung Chang, back to Phenom Penh, to Steung, and lastly to Siem Reap. I traveled with one female co-leader and 9 (! Teenage female girls, no boys. I am still adjusting to dual-gendered society once again. Publicar un comentario en la entrada.

Susie's Travel Tales: Race Day

http://susiestraveltales.blogspot.com/2008/05/race-day.html

Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Triathlon high: Running my fastest mile on the last mile of the race. Triathlon low: Being perfectly situated to intercept the snot rocket of the man running in front of me on said last mile. A flock of triathletes poised to swim down Town Lake. I promise I was not that cheerful during the whole race. The Gaskins ladies, post-race. Some of my most excellent teammates. Posted by Susie G. Cag (can you guess) said. Update plz A-Susie =P. Susie's Travel Tales: April 2007

http://susiestraveltales.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, April 12, 2007. I got to see my friend Nicola from England who was part of the fantastic group of people Nate and I met here on our first trip and have stayed in touch with since then. Nicola loves San Marcos so much she stuck around and now calls it home. We absorbed a couple other members into our group this week, Nate's friend Tom and my old friend Neil who came to check out what all the fuss was about the Pyramids as well. Great having them along. Doing my thing with Carlos. I would like to...

Susie's Travel Tales: April 2008

http://susiestraveltales.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

Tuesday, April 29, 2008. An amusing memory from my college friend Katherine, a seasoned triathlete. I remember running with you once our senior year. It was a very short run, if I remember correctly, and there may have been some swearing involved.”. I placed 1st in my age group! A-hemnevermind that I was the only one IN my age group (which I will remain vague about, except that it now proudly boasts a “3” as of earlier this month), that's neither here nor there. Some pre-race pix of me and Ana-Maria.

I’m training and fundraising through a wonderful program, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training, whose mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma– and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. I have committed to raising 2,600 smackers and need your support in reaching that goal! Stay tuned for sexy photos of Susie in a wetsuit. Posted by Susie G. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Susie's Travel Tales: Digging Ditches

http://susiestraveltales.blogspot.com/2007/05/honduras.html

Thursday, May 17, 2007. With some of the volunteer English teachers. Our days were spent helping out in classrooms and digging a 10-foot sewage hole for the new bathrooms for the kindergartners. Glamorous, right? Local ranch hands would mossy on by and were quite amused at the site of gringos in their country with shovels in hand performing hard labor under the blazing sun. The irony was not lost on them, either. Hitching a ride to the airport in Don Max's rad truck. Posted by Susie G. Lisa M the Blog.

Susie's Travel Tales: Oh Eight Was Great

http://susiestraveltales.blogspot.com/2009/01/2008-in-photos.html

Thursday, January 01, 2009. Oh Eight Was Great. Susiestraveltales has been silent since the end of May, but not for lack of travel tales. I’ve had some fine adventures this year while, in between, continuing to find my roots in Austin. I’m not feeling terribly verbose right now, so I’m just going to let the pictures do the talking for now! Happy New Year, hope it’s a great one ahead for us all! Posted by Susie G. Susie, loved your slideshow! You have had an incredible year! LEAPNow 2006 Photo Album.

Susie's Travel Tales: T minus one week

http://susiestraveltales.blogspot.com/2008/05/t-minus-one-week.html

Monday, May 19, 2008. T minus one week. T minus one week until the big triathlon event this Sunday! And another member of our team who was declared cancer-free a couple years ago is about to tackle an Ironman.how's that for some inspiration? And in spite of my love-affair with Austin, I leave in a couple of weeks for another summer of trip leading with Backroads in Yellowstone and the Tetons. Excited to be back in Jackson Hole, see some friends and not be a rookie at the job this year! Posted by Susie G.

Susie's Travel Tales: August 2007

http://susiestraveltales.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 26, 2007. Another Summer Come and Gone. My 9-year-old niece Callie recently reprimanded me for my blog being way out of date, so I’d better get to it. Humble and sophisticated self-named TBTGE (The Best Training Group Ever). Backroads does high-end one week trips all over the world, and the Tetons and Yellowstone in Wyoming were to become my home for the summer. Welcome to my office:. Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. An animal jam on the road. On the job with guests. When not on trips I li...

Nashville: Mike’s Ice Cream. I have a really big sweet tooth. A REALLY BIG ONE! This ice cream must be reeeeally good! This place is perfect for a grab ‘n go cone or even for a date night. Mike’s Ice Cream in Nashville. April 30, 2015. Yes, I realize that there are many Margaritaville restaurants, but I think the Nashville location needs to be talked about here on my blog. Now, I’ve only been twice, but both times were soooo much fun! April 28, 2015. There was so much to look at! The downstairs had books...
