Travels With The Bear

Travels With The Bear. Wednesday, May 12, 2010. STEPPING ON SKULLS HERE AND THERE. This will wander from Indonesia to Peru, but it’s all about bones. Really very dry bones. Could be pig bones, cow bones, or human bones as a Polish Baroness once said to me. Let’s begin with Peru, Marilyn and I and an Israeli commando we’ve met back in Equador and been traveling with for three months. The ride is a 15 year old Ford, four door sedan sans upholstery! Not a scrap of fabric and that includes the seats! Marilyn...

Travels With The Bear: Hillside Stories . . . Flowers, Snakes & the Farmer's Daughter

http://travelswiththebear.blogspot.com/2009/12/hillside-stories-flowers-snakes-farmers.html

Travels With The Bear. Friday, December 18, 2009. Hillside Stories . . . Flowers, Snakes and the Farmer's Daughter. This is not just any hill. It’s The Mount Of The Beatitudes, the place where Jesus. Said the Lord’s Prayer. For the first time and delivered the Sermon On The Mount. It’s just a hill. In West Virginia it would be a knoll but the crusaders never thought anyone would get here, so they gave out some strange names. They’re scared of me! Besides they’re French! The Pope showed up. Thousands ...

Travels With The Bear: OPEN ANOTHER BOTTLE OF BREAKFAST

http://travelswiththebear.blogspot.com/2010/02/open-another-bottle-of-breakfast.html

Travels With The Bear. Wednesday, February 3, 2010. OPEN ANOTHER BOTTLE OF BREAKFAST. Marilyn and I retired on Friday, got married on Saturday and the following Thursday left on a 31 month honey moon. Not bad for starters, but this is about a trip into Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg with a former student who will remain nameless for ever. We started down the Moselle River, the river of wine and cheese. The three of us in a Isusu truck. Camping all the way, we ran into Der Rules. There’s every kind...

Travels With The Bear. Friday, December 25, 2009. Santa Claus and . . . . . Well it’s Christmas and I got to Blog that, right? Let’s start with the fact that more than likely we got the wrong date for the birth of Christ. It’s more than likely August or early September. So how come? Travels With The Bear: Memories of the End of the World

http://travelswiththebear.blogspot.com/2010/03/memories-of-end-of-world.html

Travels With The Bear. Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Memories of the End of the World. Marilyn and I arrived in this eastern area in late May. At the time 100 miles east of Istanbul or fifty north of the Southern Coast and it was 1200 again. Narrow half paved traffic empty roads. Lines of reapers swinging their scythes in unison. Storks roosting on high tension electric lines, and hospitality that shocked even us. 8217; I seldom get the Or Else! And between the watch towers is a twenty feet high electrified...

Travels With The Bear: A Timely Digression

http://travelswiththebear.blogspot.com/2009/11/timely-digression.html

Travels With The Bear. Thursday, November 5, 2009. We are travelers, not the same as tourists. We go. We stay. We seek. We take in a place, deciding each day where our journey will end. If we choose to linger, we linger. Unlike the locals, if we do not like a place.most of the time.we can leave. How to describe the evening of the day that East became West? Http:/ creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Whatch where you walk! Ah, fruit juice. Rock Tombs, Demre. Do no...

Four-wheeling around Southern Africa,. Long haul drives to Alaska and western Canada,. Faking our way through the Middle East and Egypt. California, a really foreign country. Thursday, August 13, 2015. When you need to use the restroom at the hospital where your child is receiving an IV infusion and you knock gently on the unit's bathroom door and even more gently whisper, "Hello? And when you get no response you are convinced you hear voices so you proceed back to your child's infusion room to wait a bit longer rather than lurk outside the bathroom door like some sort of weird creeper but you really. Knocking on the door. Is your child's developmental pediatrician on the CCS...

Travels with the Berg's. Tuesday, March 17, 2015. The females are smaller and much cuter. We saw the sea lion nursery. The babies stay with their mother for 2 years. Some of those young miles were pretty big. The adult males really look like a lion! It was all very scenic! Day 5 Marlo's second birthday! As dark as it gets! We had a delicious dinner when we arrived. Peruvian food. Chicken, rice, sweet potatoes and some kind of cake. The jungle sounds lulled us to sleep at the end of day 5 of our adventure.

Tuesday, October 12, 2010. Noah is a music lover like his dad, do I have been introducing him to some old songs. My Grandma (Ma) would sing "Cotton Fields" to me when I was a kid and I loved it. I no longer remembered the words so before teaching it to Noah I YouTubed it and opened a treasure chest of old folk music and was introduced to a unique personality. Here are a few links:.
