A Quest for Endless Oreo Cookie Consumption. September 8, 2015. Today started with the mother of all breakfast buffets at Timberline Lodge. After hiking into the lodge last night in the falling snow, I was grateful for a plentiful assortment of warm, fattening, rich food this morning. And a shot of Switchel to tie it up in a perfect bow for me. My boyfriend had met me at the lodge last night, planning on hiking the last 3 days with me. We got a late start this morning at around 11:00am. Back on the Trail.

The rain was pouring down on my tent, but there was something else. Something loud! I realized that boulders were smashing down the hill behind me and headed directly toward me. I’ve never been so scared and so panicked in my life! The recent rains must’ve unstabilized the ground. Crazy! The trail after Olallie Lake has been so fast! Smooth and gradual climbs. So nice.
