Many years ago, I injured my right ankle [in 2008, the doctor said it had probably been cracked or broken] and not had it examined. I had no problems with it, until I reached my forties. There was some pain, usually after a day at work, walking on concrete floors, or when I moved the foot the wrong way. The doctor told me that I have a high pain threshold, as the condition my ankle was in before surgery should have caused a lot of pain. I have had numbness and tingling at the ball of foot and toes occasionally but the surgeon says this is nothing to worry about. It is not a big problem, especially compared to the problems I had prior to surgery.

I was in the hospital from Friday when the surgery took place, until Monday. I was on intravenous at first, and then given morphine once when the blocker freezing came out. [Saturday pm].
