So heres what I came up with - some 4mm plate and a tube welded to the front horizontal hoop. You can now wack the bulk head with a lump hammer and it donrt move an inch. Left and right side done. Been wanting to look under the roof lip strip since 1987 when I did some minor repairs - which have pretty much lasted the time and saved the roof lip. On the face if it the lip was pretty good - however two minor cuts with a hacksaw and the finishing strip was off to reveal rust! My Modified GT6 Blog. Saturday, September 29, 2007. Nothing been happening for a month or so! Since the chassis was sent to the blasters not been upto much apart from working on the cage fabrication. Using 48mm o/d seamless tube 3.5mm thick - going to welded it into the shell. Rear hoop and 1/2 the front cage done. Monday, September 17, 2007. Having bought in a Locost/Westfield front and rear suspension setup complete with bushes etc - found it had stange bolt sizes - 31/64' - fine if you can find an 31/64' bolt? Triumph GT6 MK2 Restoration. Monday, 25 November 2013. The Rebuild Has Begun. Apologies for no recent posts but work and Bird Watching have been taking up more time than anticipated, especially the birding as I was going to do less to concentrate on the car!
