October 24, 2012 in Uncategorized. We’re watching Sandy very closely. She will likely become a hurricane later today. Winds as of 5am were at 70 miles per hour. It takes 74 mile per hour winds to become a hurricane. Sandy will move over Jamaica today and then head to eastern Cuba. As she moves over land, she will weaken back to a very strong tropical storm.
