Keys Down Under: Sayonara to Surfing in Australia
http://keysdownunder.blogspot.com/2013/06/sayonara-to-surfing-in-australia.html
Sunday, June 9, 2013. Sayonara to Surfing in Australia. Before we left Australia, we went surfing one last time with our friends Klem and Vesna. We went to Torquay Beach, which was where we first learned. To surf. The rain held off until we had our fill, and we had some decent beginner-sized waves that were good for us to practice on. Learning to surf was one of my favorite parts of living in Australia. I never got very good at it, but I just had fun being in the water and riding the little waves. Zack a...

Keys Down Under: May 2013
http://keysdownunder.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Back in the USA! Reunited after two years! We made it to Michigan today after an amazing eight weeks of travel on our way back from Australia. We're so tired, but we're enjoying my mom's meals and being reunited with our dog Molly. Eventually I'll have some final post about Australia and what our time there meant to us and such, but right now I need to do some laundry and get some sleep! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Back in the USA! There was an error in this gadget. Sesame ellis ...

Keys Down Under: June 2013
http://keysdownunder.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 30, 2013. Molly enjoys swimming in the ocean! So this is my last post on this blog. The Keys are no longer Down Under, so it's time to bring things to a close. Here's the latest on our lives:. 2 We bought a house in Denver, Colorado. I actually flew into and out of Denver on Friday for the closing! Our hotel room before I unpacked the boxes. It's a bit crowded, but we'll survive for a month. We'll always look back on our time in Australia with fond memories. Deciding to move there for tw...

Keys Down Under: September 2012
http://keysdownunder.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 29, 2012. The School for Wives. Last Sunday night . Maybe Zack wanted me to learn something? Thursday, September 27, 2012. Mexican Food and Bowling. After our Mexican feast, we went bowling. The girls had a good night; Emily won, and I came in second. It's about the only time we've beat the boys at anything! We ended the night with some deliciously unhealthy crepe desserts (I had banana Nutella of course). It was a fun night out with American friends spent doing American things! Holla...

Keys Down Under: March 2013

Monday, March 18, 2013. Australian Animals at Healesville Sanctuary. This is one last post about my time with my parents and aunt and uncle. When they came back through Melbourne after their time in New Zealand, we had a day to enjoy some Australian sights. Our first stop was Brighton Beach for "morning tea." I bought them various flavored macaroons from the market and brought along some strawberry lemonade. The best part was when this eagle spotted a wild version of itself high up in the sky. Well, ...

Keys Down Under: October 2012

Sunday, October 28, 2012. Tatts Cox Plate Take Two. Last year, we went to the Tatts Cox Plate with some friends. You can read (or reread) that post here. We went again this year (yesterday) and had another good time. I wore the dress I had worn to my bridal shower way back in 2008, spruced up with some blue shoes and a blue fascinator. Zack looked dapper in his snazzy gray suit with his skinny tie. This guy was standing out front when we first arrived (I'm not sure what the point was-a mascot of sorts?

Keys Down Under: A Farewell Concert
http://keysdownunder.blogspot.com/2013/06/a-farewell-concert.html
Tuesday, June 11, 2013. ZZ Top was the opening act, so that was pretty fun as well. I didn't realize how many songs I actually knew by them ("Legs," "Sharp Dressed Man," Gimme All Your Lovin'," etc.). So Zack finally got to fulfill his dream of seeing Guns N' Roses in concert, only days before we left Australia. I think the smile on his face shows that it was worth staying for! Happy husband living out a childhood dream. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What I Learned While Living in Australia. Zack g...

Keys Down Under: First Impressions of the United States
http://keysdownunder.blogspot.com/2013/06/first-impressions-of-united-states.html
Friday, June 7, 2013. First Impressions of the United States. I wrote this a couple of weeks ago, but it's all still pretty accurate. These are my three main first impressions upon arriving back in the United States. Keep in mind, these were made after traveling throughout Asia for a few months, so they are not necessarily solely in comparison to life in Australia, but they do apply in some ways. Keys Down Under: January 2013

Thursday, January 31, 2013. The Drive to Milford Sound. One of our stops along the way was Mirror Lakes, which (when it's not raining) has a lovely reflection of the mountains in the water. We didn't get to see the reflection, but the lupins were pretty. Lupins are the pink and purple wildflowers that you see everywhere when driving around New Zealand at this time of year. I couldn't get enough of them! The rain did make for spectacular waterfalls all over the rocks. It reminded me of my trip to Uluru.
