TwoTaboos: September 2004

http://twotaboos.blogspot.com/2004_09_01_archive.html

Religion and Politics. A civil discourse. Tuesday, September 07, 2004. John Kerry has had a god-awful August. Blame it on what you want: a lickspittle media, inattention due to the Olympics, the constant lies of the Swift Boat Slime Patrol, or the inability of his own campaign to get out a consistent message, but that was one egg-sucker of a month. This is the home stretch, and the race is far from over, but as they said in my very brief boxing career, to be the champ, you have to beat the champ. The ide...

TwoTaboos: Paper Cup World

http://twotaboos.blogspot.com/2005/03/paper-cup-world.html

Religion and Politics. A civil discourse. Monday, March 07, 2005. Follow the link to find discussion of an amazing story by Bill Moyers in which Bill examines what the current focus on "rapture" politics is doing to our nation and the world. From my vantage point, what's being expressed in this fatalistic, hateful philosophy is just an extension of what seems to drive many on the right: a failure to break away from an infantile mindset. You, of course, being the center of universe, have been singled out ...

TwoTaboos: Who wants to live forever?

http://twotaboos.blogspot.com/2005/02/who-wants-to-live-forever.html

Religion and Politics. A civil discourse. Tuesday, February 15, 2005. Who wants to live forever? If anybody else out there is like me, then I suspect the answer to that question is "lots of people." I'm definitely among those who pray daily "Lord, I believe. Lord, help me in my unbelief." That unblief can seem very strong around 3AM, when the certain knowledge of my own death presses in on my chest like a black weight. However, I find that the only thing tougher to contemplate than eternity is an ending.

TwoTaboos: Pharisee Nation

http://twotaboos.blogspot.com/2005/02/pharisee-nation.html

Religion and Politics. A civil discourse. Friday, February 18, 2005. Over at Common Dreams. The first two paragraphs are enough to set the amazing tone. With that, the place exploded, and 500 students stormed out. The rest of them then started chanting, Bush! Posted by Mark Sumner @ 6:47 AM. At 20 February, 2005 22:27. I read your diary on dailykos. I wrote a similar (though shorter) prediction of recesion in a dailykos diary a few weeks ago. Do you live in the Northeast? At 21 February, 2005 16:04.

TwoTaboos: Playing Chicken with the Apocalypse

http://twotaboos.blogspot.com/2005/11/playing-chicken-with-apocalypse.html

Religion and Politics. A civil discourse. Thursday, November 17, 2005. Playing Chicken with the Apocalypse. Here it is, another blasted post about the end of the world. The end of the Democrats, and the end of Republicans.  The end of Coca-Cola, baseball, apple pie, and Chevrolet.   It's even about the. End of Canada and televised hockey, so don't start feeling too comfortable up there. 160;Check.  Centers not holding? 160;We got 'em.  Rough beasts? Yes  Yes, you do.  And it goes like this. At their best...
