She ran the 800 first, and was ready to go home when she finished. She'd walked part of it and she was embarrassed. She cried. She complained. She begged. There's 2 hours 'til your next race. and it's the short one. You've got time to recover", I said. She calmed down, ate a little something, and agreed to stick it out. I ran the 800 the 400 and the mile!

Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Why the heck is it so hard to get my kids to play outside? We have swings, a trampoline, bikes, dogs, water hoses, wagons, trees for climbing, and plenty of property to explore. I know it's hot, but for heaven's sake it was hot when I was a kid. and I stayed outside the entire summer. My grandmother made sure of that, I assure you. Grace actually cried when I asked her to go outside to play. What is that? Disease is t.v. and computers! That's it. I'm kickin. When Did That Happen?
