http://jtillett.blogspot.com/2007/09/lessons-from-rents.html
Yet this I call to mind. His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your Faithfulness. Monday, September 10, 2007. Lessons from the 'rents. My mother taught me to clean up after myself, to love with a no-nonsense, fierce love, and to leave things better than I found them. My dad taught me to work hard, think deeply, and to enter so deeply into other people's lives that your kids feel as if you will never leave the church on Sunday afternoon. Keep me posted. you are in my prayers.

Yet this I call to mind. His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your Faithfulness. Sunday, September 16, 2007. Our Deeply Sane Moments. Luckily, I walked out of the Sinclair with only a pop-tart and a Mountain Dew (breakfast of champions! I reasoned that I didn’t have time to smoke just then, and showing up to seminary class (New Testament) reeking of smoke wouldn’t go over real well. I was deeply tired and incredibly stressed, and perhaps a bit insane. Or make me cooler? When we le...

I read the following paragraphs in an article by Christianity Today. The full article can be read here. Which sums up much of ex-gay ministry today. No hype. Limited faith in techniques. No gay bashing. No detectable triumphalism, religious or political. Just serious discipleship. What a lesson to all of Christians! PS to homosexuality an...

Yet this I call to mind: How the Church lost the debate on Homosexuality
http://jtillett.blogspot.com/2007/08/how-church-lost-debate-on-homosexuality.html
Yet this I call to mind. His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your Faithfulness. Thursday, August 02, 2007. How the Church lost the debate on Homosexuality. OUR DOUBLE STANDARD: How we made it “special”. If we are going to have any ministry among homosexuals, we’ll have to drop our double standard. Sin is sin, and it is nasty, but all of it was dealt with on the cross. Our savior had no such double standards. OUR SEXUAL MISCONCEPTIONS: How we made it hopeless. Or are we so blinded...

Yet this I call to mind. His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your Faithfulness. Monday, January 21, 2008. Post Modern Missions Motivation. As we began to discuss the topic a bit, my pastor made a comment on the issue in regards to its impact on mission’s motivation. “Risking your life in missions so that someone can have a little bit better life, when they would be going to heaven anyway. What motivation is that? I am not an expert in modern vs. postmodern thinking, so feel f...

Yet this I call to mind: All the foolish and weak things
http://jtillett.blogspot.com/2008/01/all-foolish-and-weak-things.html
Yet this I call to mind. His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your Faithfulness. Tuesday, January 01, 2008. All the foolish and weak things. I’m going to be a bit vulnerable here. I think I told one of my girlfriends this one time, and she made fun of me, which wasn’t a major blow to my ego, but did make me realize that I’m a bit weird. Driving home, I was thinking about this, and about several other areas of my life. It seems so humble, weak, and foolish. The refugee mini...8221;...
