I was reading ‘Tacitus’ this morning, his ‘Histories,’ and this includes a short description of the Jews and the fighting in Jerusalem during the ‘Jewish War.’ It is likely he obtained the story from Josephus who wrote his famous book concerning this event and I was taken with the noise of battle. The good side is the deserved victory the Heart of Midlothian obtained by defeating their opponents today by ten goals to nil! I regret not being there in person, but living four hundred miles away, and in abject poverty at that (oh yes I am! It must be stated their women will I suspect be more interested in 'The Voice' or 'Ant and Dec' and other drivel!

Add to this the encroaching rationing of daily items, the limits of freedom, work forced upon the individual, and what in fact was a dictatorial state until the war was won, all these things add up after a few years. Now I am wondering what to do with this. Should I make it into an item and write it up? Does the boss wish me to leave it with her? I do not know, neither does she!
