Pyrography and Pixel Wrangling by Chris Wulff. Inspiration and Subject Matter. Generally speaking, the best wood to work with has an even tone and grain, but I’ve found you can get results from pretty much anything. You just have to adjust your technique to suit the medium. Surfaces I’ve burnt include Basswood, Maple Plywood, Balsa. It’s a sturdy tip that allows me create everything from intricate, fine lines to rough, rugged textures.

Pyrography and Pixel Wrangling by Chris Wulff. Inspiration and Subject Matter. I’m Chris Wulff. I like to make pictures. Sometimes they move across the screen, sometimes they move you. I draw with fire on wood, with my finger on a phone, with a keyboard and fancy filters and sometimes even with a pencil on paper.
