Moonshine - Sloppy Science
http://sloppyscience.livejournal.com/10886.html
A club in Geelong, Australia has been closed by police after it was discovered the bartenders were serving moonshine, not Smirnoff vodka as advertised. But what was wrong with the moonshine, according to the article? And we're to assume that Smirnoff vodka contains. what exactly? I'm assuming this was the journalist's fault for confusing methanol and ethanol. Methanol. 23rd-Aug-2009 05:24 am (UTC). Noxzema Commercial: the Madonna invasion of 5th grade
http://noxzemacommercial.blogspot.com/2009/02/madonna-invasion-of-5th-grade.html
Monday, February 16, 2009. The Madonna invasion of 5th grade. Ya know, it wasn't all about the boys when it came to my musical tastes growing up. In fact, the first CD I ever owned was Madonna's Ray of Light. Which I think my mom got for me to go along with my birthday boom box. Ever since then, I have tried to maintain interest in Her Madgesty's music, but nothing has really measured up to RoL. Isn't that what I'm trying to make this blog about, though? It's all good, looking back on it. Reality doe...

Effect of lipids and ethanol on cells, tissues and viruses: biology
http://biology.livejournal.com/255599.html
Gin and kerosene (. Effect of lipids and ethanol on cells, tissues and viruses. If you immersed a cell in oil or another non-polar solvent, would the cell eventually lyse due to loss of membrane integrity? Would the soft tissue eventually melt away, leaving bones and a few tough, proteinaceous structures like hair? How would the effect differ for living and non-living bodies? What kind of membrane repair mechanisms do we have to combat such a scenario, and how effective are they? Bacteria. What about...

Hotlinkers. - ! Jul 14th, 2003 10:05 am. TUBE - Let`s go to the sea OASIS. Recently, it was brought to my attention that a site called TRASHbasket has been hotlinking directly off of melodyBOMB. (Specifically this page of the site: http:/ www.trashbasket.narod.ru/0084.ht. I`ve had quite a few run-ins with hotlinkers before. It`s only proper netiquette NOT to hotlink files directly off of sites like these, and I believe nearly all sites explicitly state NO hotlinking. Much love (and anger :P) from japan,.
