Just another blog?: Rang de Basanti!!
http://sathwic.blogspot.com/2006/03/rang-de-basanti.html
Saturday, March 04, 2006. RdB is impressive, refreshingly different - it could be mainly Rahman's music which was almost path-breaking. But, though it overwhelmed the other aspects of the movie, the movie in it self was rather a unique product. Acting was of a high quality - Aamir was extra-ordinary, but you come to expect it from him. Since Lagaan, his penchant for perfection has been obvious. But, there were other stand-out performers too - particularly Atul Kulkarni and Sharman Joshi. 3 What surprised...

Just another blog?: December 2005
http://sathwic.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 27, 2005. Aaru - Surprisingly good! Sorry if you are not a Tamil movie afficionado). This (and a hundred variants) is the standard masala thriller plot and Aaru (means Six, and is the nick-name of the hero) is no different. But, I enjoyed it - more than I did Ghilli (nick-name of the hero! And as much as I did Saami (again, nickname of the hero! The disappointment of course was the music - too standard, and the sequences too similar to Ghilli. Lyrics an improvement though - again ty...

random ramblings: April 2005
http://dangerousbeginnings.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 29, 2005. There is a tension between our common desire that the law be uniform and certain and our wish that it somehow meet the needs of justice in the individual case. There are conflicting roles of judges, the decision-making elite in a democratic society. Should judges conform to popular sentiment? Should judges somehow watch for the welfare of those who come before them? Should they assist the ignorant, or just apply disinterestedly the machinery of the law? Posted by sushil at 4:28 pm.

Astitva.... The Fountainhead: June 2005
http://fountain-head.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Astitva. The Fountainhead. Tuesday, June 28, 2005. I was in Shanghai for a week on work. Infrastructure is awesome. from 5 lane roads to the speed with which construction and reconstruction takes place is just maddening. They do not build structures, they raise them(Those of you who have played strategy games would know what I mean). Buildings are creatively done, though the style changes largely between buildings. This gives variety but looks a little odd. Posted by Avyakt at 11:15 PM. Or probably the w...

Just another blog?: Free Speech and e-Speech
http://sathwic.blogspot.com/2006/02/free-speech-and-e-speech.html
Thursday, February 09, 2006. Free Speech and e-Speech. My supervisor Vincent is not in today! I meekly told him something about three buses missing me when in fact I had chased the first bus that refused to take me in till the next bus stop and got in (I was impressed by my own tenacity! Now when I came in 'only' fifteen mins late today to show my apologetic attitude, he is not in! I started with a great willingness to get started on work on my own. Nevertheless, this whole topic of Islam, Cartoons and F...

May not be the whole version I think. Posted by Vikram, Son of Bala : 10:53 AM 0 comments. Thursday, January 26, 2006. He gives insights into why well-meaning intelligent individuals do this borrowing ideas from George Orwell and common sense. What struck a chord with me was one paragraph where he points out about more often tha...

Wednesday, February 08, 2006. NUS Blood Donation, Chemistry and other such things. Note: Am experimenting on a blog entry variety that assumes everyone who reads knows everything I know - will be fun to see how much people understand. 1) NUS Blood Donation. NUS - have been there many times. First when my bro was a student. That was when I made up my mind that I was coming to Singapore to study come what may. Many more times since I came to Singapore, albeit a NTU student already. My IA work is now hittin...

Many of my posts in the next one month would follow the same pattern. So how has the journey been so far? Continental Airlines(thats what I am taking) just anno...
