Colourfest Film Festival debuted in May 2010 at The Red Rattler, Marrickville. The opening night screened ten short films (selected from a national call out), with nine in competition. The winners were selected by an audience vote on the debut night. Best film was awarded to Saliha Wazirzada for the film ‘Zarmina’ and runner up awarded to Fadia Abboud, for ‘Big Trouble, Little Fish’. Website by Just Pixels.

Colourfest debuts in 2012 on the 8th of September in Melbourne (Footscray Community Arts Centre), followed by 12th-13th of September in Sydney (Chauvel Cinema, Paddington) then 22nd of September in Brisbane (The Edge QLD, Southbank). Colourfest also screened at Hobart and Launceston courtesy of University of Tasmania (UTAS). We thank UTAS staff and the attendees at Hobart for inspiring us to create the Harmony Day sessions. Migrant and Diaspora Stories (Australian ONLY). 8211; Films must explore newly arrived migrant and/or diaspora stories. We prioritise films made by filmmakers from culturally diverse backgrounds.
