Hi I’m Dave Walker (40yrs) and you may be interested in a remarkable event taking place in September 2010 I’m a member of a six man team taking up the challenge of cycling across America from San Diego to St Augustine following the Southern Tier route. In aid of Claire House Children’s Hospice. I’m from the town of St Helen’s. Merseyside,UK were I live with my wife and Son Ryan, and a big thank you to them both in understanding why I wish to complete this challenge.

To Chester – 40 miles) and this has allowed me some good miles. So 4am leave home, pass the 24hr McDonald’s and always amazed at the cars waiting in the drive thru. As this challenge was going to be something none of us has every faced or trained for we needed to get some advice on our training to ensure we are all of the same level of fitness and able to complete the ride. Dave Lloyd former Professional cyclist who is now a well-known and successful coach was the coach who accepted our call for assistance. Next planned group ride is arranged for Sunday 20th December.

The weather has continued to be treacherous with temperatures dropping below freezing for the last couple of weeks and Monday 4th saw up to 8 inches falling in St Helens. It’s now the 10th and the snow is still here with footpaths and side roads use with caution, the main roads ok but still not safe to get back on road bike training as some lanes narrow and icy sections.
