For our final week in India, we set off toward the tropical south and the state of Kerala. The views of coconut palms, backwaters and a blue coloured sky were a welcome change from the smoggy, dry and overpoulated northern states (Kerala only has 32 million people…). Drinks in the tea (but not drinking tea). Our modern bus to Kochi. Chinese fishing nets in Fort Kochi. Lunch on the boat.

India: Delhi to Jaipur →. November 11, 2011. Our ferry from Jordan arrived in the shabby port town of Nuweiba and after a version of passport control we were welcomed to Egypt with a walk through an unlit truck yard to the main gate, and then with many (friendly) policemen with machine guns. Didn’t see that on any of the brochures! Our hotel driver welcomed us outside the gate and drove us the hour to Dahab, a Red sea resort famous for diving and doing a whole lot of nothing. Over het boek 'Van blad zingen'. Je zingt al een tijdje en je kunt je aardig redden als er nieuwe noten gezongen moeten worden. Natuurlijk weet je het verschil tussen een drie- en een vierkwartsmaat en ook wat het betekent als je twee mollen ziet staan. Toch blijft het lastig om bijvoorbeeld grote intervallen te treffen.
