Was born in Neuffen, Germany. He came to Charleston , South Carolina, sometime before 1762. He and his wife, Christina Bowers, were members of St. John’s Lutheran Church and were most likely involved in the church’s construction in 1763. Martin Kaminer’s son, Jacob, amassed a large plantation (3000 acres) on the Saluda River near Lexington, South Carolina. The plantation included a cotton gin, a sawmill with a 25 acre mill pond, a grain thresher, a blacksmith ship, and a tannery. Herbert Newton Van Pelt.

The Saints Leaving Nauvoo. Abraham Shaw was born in Roughlee, Lancashire, England, in 1808. He married Margaret Thornber in 1829 in St. Mary’s Church. They lived a short distance from the church on Thorny Bank Farm.
