Roleli thoughts on Life, Jamaica and more. Monday, January 30, 2006. PM and PNP shackled. A January 22, 2006, the Prime Minister of Jamaica at a Peoples National Party's NEC conference announced the date and place for the PNP's presidential elections. The election exercises he announced would be held at the National Arena on February 25, 2006. This was to be the beginning of the real drama. Is this how they plan things? Make announcements and then plan afterwards? In November of 1997 after the Reggae Boy...

Roleli thoughts on Life, Jamaica and more. Friday, December 30, 2005. Dry Weather Tourist City in Jamaica. On the the eve of Christmas eve I decided to journey from Kingston to Montego Bay, the tourist capital of Jamaica. The Journey started in daylight about 5:00 pm and the usual three and half hour journey was progressing nicely. Had held the traffic for one whole hour. This a common problem in Montego Bay, flooding occurs on the south gully, the road to Granville, right in front of the Air Jamaica...

Roleli thoughts on Life, Jamaica and more. Monday, February 27, 2006. Tale of four trains. The PNP presidential race involved four trains, Prosperity, Solid as a Rock, 21st century and Team Portia. We will now review the performance of the teams. Congratulation to Team Portia. It was a hard fought and in the end a well earned victory. Like that train in the little engine that could, she thought she could and she did. Posted by roleli @ 9:59 PM. Wednesday, February 22, 2006. Detention of the Innocent.

Roleli thoughts on Life, Jamaica and more. Wednesday, August 30, 2006. Cable and Wireless - 'all our agents are busy, please continue to hold'. I applied to Cable and Wireless Jamaica(CWJ) for my telephone line to be transferred to my new residence some seven(7) weeks ago . They finally came and installed the phone line but there was no dial tone. The technician advised, that in two(2) days the line would be up and running, and everything would be ok. Roleli thoughts on Life, Jamaica and more. Thursday, March 30, 2006. I have noticed with concern an increase in the number of incidents of disabled or broken down Jamaica Urban Transportation Company(JUTC) buses on the roads of Kingston and St. Andrew. It now seems like everyday I am likely to encounter one if not two cases. This must be taken in the context that I don't spend much time on the road. I mostly drive to work in the mornings and back home in the afternoons. Posted by roleli @ 8:51 AM. The po...

Roleli thoughts on Life, Jamaica and more. Wednesday, April 12, 2006. Booming Bun Business Online. Maxfield Bakery seems to be all sold on Buns at least on-line. I went to check the Maxfield Bakery web site, on Tuesday April 11, 2006, to look the prices of Easter Bun on-line. To my shock I was greeted by the notice below. The actual URL http:/ www.maxfieldbakery.com/(hrisug55brvue1ubixfd4hel)/default1.aspx. I suspect that the notice will be removed soon so I took a screenshot. Posted by roleli @ 9:18 AM.

Roleli thoughts on Life, Jamaica and more. Monday, May 01, 2006. Today May 1, the toll rates on Highway 2000 officially move up. It is very interesting how this was done. As stated in another blog as part of the contract or terms of agreement they are allow do so. The increase is interestingly based on the U.S. inflation rate and changes in the value of the Jamaican dollar the United States dollar. Posted by roleli @ 9:45 AM. Jamaica Gas Prices Blog. I smiled, buttered my toast and pondered it ...
