Fishing on this stretch can at times be excellent with massive shoals of big bream in residence along the entire length, location of these shoals, however, it can at times be difficult. Those anglers that do find them are rewarded with large nets of fish as they are easily caught on conventional methods. Exe (Cowley to Exwick). Tidal Exe (Countess Wear). River Creedy and Exe. Both of these rivers are relatively under fished waters despite their close proximity to Exeter and the quality fishing available on the two adjoining rivers. There are anglers who take advantage of the fact that both waters are extremely close to each other and walk across the small field separating the waters and fish either the faster flowing Exe or the slower moving Creedy.
