All posts by jverostka. February 18, 2016. I came not to add to this blog, but to bury it — or at least, put it on official temporary hiatus. Wow, it’s kinda dusty here. Some of the reason for that is that I do answer to a lot of demands over the end of the year holidays. Some of the reason has to do with adjusting to a very different life – the proverbial “empty nest”. Some of it is plain old “blank page” syndrome. Which means I don’t need this site as much until – whenever. November 5, 2015. 8220;IR...

A Musing on Boot Camping | j.verostka

A Musing on Boot Camping. March 17, 2014. Oscar Wilde once said something about wanting to be worthy of his imported ceramics. I’m nowhere near as ambitious; I just want to be worthy of the motto on my tea mug. It says, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”. I don’t know if setting one’s writing goals out in the public eye is within the comfort zone of most people – it isn’t yet in mine. And yet…. And I am very much a pantser who works on inspiration. And yet…. YA Buccaneers Spring Bootcamp.

March 16, 2015. I had a bit of an insight on the subject of my clothes-of-other-times fascination. I was browsing a kimono website, window shopping, and thinking that if I did place an order, I would want the under-garments, the accessory kits, etc. Part of attraction is found in the business of how it all goes together. So, I realized that what is so interesting about. Applying all of this to the subject of story-telling will have to wait for another post; this week is going to be a busy one. It was a w...

This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:. I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my blog. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.). 8230;or something like this:.

March 31, 2015. When people talk about life as a journey, they usually seem to suggest something out of Tolkien: a very long walk up one hill and down another, over rivers or sometimes through them although never, of course, stepping in the same one twice. I think it’s more like a drive. Until I hit another pothole. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Your email address will not be published. Required fields are marked *. Just another WordPress site. May 31, 2015. Spending whole days at a hospital and being there for someone going through the ups and downs of the last few weeks of high school have left me rather more drained than I had hoped. I have still been turning out stories and sending them out as well, if not quite as often as I would have liked. I ran out of the energy to do the more ambitious stuff this past month. If I can get in another post next week, I will. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Your email address will not be published.

Bootcamp Wrap-up | j.verostka
http://jverostka.com/2014/05/29/bootcamp-wrap-up
May 29, 2014. I hesitate to post the honest truth here, that what I really learned from doing writer’s boot camp was that I didn’t know what I was doing. We aren’t supposed to go around admitting that sort of thing, not in American culture. I made a. Yes I was kinda. To do only that which I already know how to do. Six years ago, when I started on this rather unexpected lurch off visual arts path, I hadn’t used a laptop, or a word processor, or the internet or e-mailed, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. I am ...
