Saturday, 27 September 2014. Today I checked the the tip, aka the reclaimed waste tip behind Waldridge village. Despite it being nearly October and autumn arriving early this year there was still a good deal of colour about. Nothing of note bird-wise but the Tawny Owls. Deep water swinging mooring. Collect boat from mooring, tow to quay. High pressure wash below water line. Move to winter storage and secure. GRP and Wood repairs and shipwrighting. Engine servicing, winterising and recommisioning. Electrical and Electronics installation,. Rigging services and inspection. Dinghy repairs and storage. Laying up – preferred time is end of September-early October onwards. Due to tides and winds, and restricted space, we cannot get 30 boats out in a week!
